S1E4: Eye of the Beholder
Aired: 2001
Our first episode starring Terri! Often dressing for comfort, she starts off with a white tee, blue zip up hoodie, a ponytail, and a necklace with earrings. And… wait… pajama pants? Okay so here we have Terri wearing pajama pants to school. Yes, yes, I remember this horror. I’ve pretty much always been a little shocked and put off by this since I first saw it in about 2002.
But I do want to take a moment to talk about wearing pajama pants in public. It used to be a thing, I suppose. However, obviously in high school it was banned. I think because you could easily pull them off, and everyone knows that high schoolers are only wanting to pull each other’s clothes off. Everyone could not wait to get to college because the rumor was, you can wear pajamas to class. Hell yeah! Let me state that I was never the type who longed to wear my pajamas to school. But once I got to college, I joined a sorority that also had a rule where you couldn’t wear pajamas to class. Foiled again. But the 2000s have since passed. And to be honest, I’m not even sure if people still wear pajama pants like this even in their own home anymore? Anyway, the battle for public pajamas has ended. Because we have since found a compromise – leggings or similar workout clothes in public. They’re comfortable, and if anyone asks, you ‘just came from the gym’!
But here we are, and Terri did not just come from the gym. She took the time to fix her hair, put in jewelry, but not to put on pants. And that’s just the truth.
Moving on, Paige and Ashley hot Terri up for the dance. She wears a black spaghetti strap top, a pastel piano recital chiffon pencil skirt, and platform mules, which are necessary to create a sturdy foundation for drunken legs. Her hair is also in a twisty formation. What would you call this? Similar to cornrows, but twists. Anyway, we all agree she looks fine as hell. And she gets down at the dance. However, like Stephanie Kaye, the crazy dance puts her down for the count.
The final image is reminiscent to the walk of shame. She’s back in pajamas again. Haha just kidding, all I can see is a grey zip up hoodie, and regret. And that freaking unfinished ponytail. What is it with the 2000s and wearing no color, all pajamas, and sloppy hair?
