Melanie’s got her hair clipped back and a striped collar peeping out of a blue sweatshirt. Nobody dresses up sweatshirts these days.

Melanie 2

Ah, here we see the classic Melanie tie, this time with a vertically-striped red shirt. I think she’s like the only girl I’ve seen wearing ties.

Although I don’t find Melanie’s ensembles to be particularly marvelous, I can tell that a lot of thought and coordination was put into them, so I do appreciate that. Here, Melanie wears almost all-over navy blue with a touch of red and some white accents. The usual plaid + skirt + tie combo.

For the date from hell, Melanie dons a green flowy button down with a red bow around the neck. It’s in interesting contrast to pair these with a pink-focused floral skirt, but I suppose it works.

Normally Melanie’s a bit more monochromatic. Or doesn’t venture far from red and green. This is kinda a shocker, and I’m not sure if it works, since her top half is red and orange, and her bottom half is this totally irrelevant sky blue. Maybe she got dressed in the dark, or had to borrow Stephanie Kaye’s “normal girl” skirt!

Doesn’t it look like it’s a nice day out? Melanie keeps it simple today with a red midi skirt, a blue t-shirt, and a black cardigan. She’s also carrying a coal miner lunch box! (No, I don’ think that’s a thing, I just made it up.)

Kathleen Melanie

That’s the look Kathleen gets when she’s talking smack about somebody. And that’s the look Melanie gets when she’s believing Kathleen. Anyway, Kathleen is wearing some drab dark sweater with a white turtleneck underneath. Melanie has a grey button down with a red belt and khaki skirt, under a teal jacket. She’s topped it off with a cute red headband.

Just chillin in the sheep sweater. Pleasing audiences everywhere.

Students.. of Degrassi Junior High… please.. fix your collars! I wish I could reach into this picture and straighten it out. I’m trying to be understanding, because I know it was the style. But it kinda makes everyone look like they just woke up from a nap.

Anyway, Melanie has her red/tie scheme going today. She’s also experimented with something new – the TRIPLE PONYTAIL!!!! Obviously Alex is awestruck.

Melanie 3.2 Melanie 3

These girls wear panyhose under their peasant skirts? That kinda takes away the comfort of wearing the skirt in the first place, doesn’t it? Oh well, it’s Canada, I know it’s cold. Melanie looks really cute in this purple and navy color scheme. A nice break from her harsh reds.

Kathleen and Melanie are sooo cute in their little talent show outfits. It’s never revealed to us what they are doing, but I love Kathleen’s red and yellow tutu! Brings back memories of spandex and itchy sequins in my own childhood…

In my humble opinion, Melanie never made the best fashion choices. Plus, I’m getting a little tired of this look. No need to narrate it – you’ve already seen it before. *If you haven’t seen it, click on my “Melanie Brodie” category link below, and get your fill of Melanie’s fashion so far.

At this point, Melanie has a signature style – those button down shirts with ties, and peasant skirts, often accompanied by that sleeveless-cardigan type thing. Today she is sporting a yellow hair clip too – very 80s and I am diggin it!

And now… one of her most famous fashion choices – the snake-proof boots. (Better watch out, they might become Snake repellent boots too!)

DJHS1E1 Melanie 2.3

At least she pairs them with her perfect sheep sweater.
