So first is this babe that Toby is giving away some electronics to. I literally had a sweater just like this. Fleece was all the rage, and I think I actually had a couple of these fleece v-neck sweaters. Next I wanted to capture not only the flare jeans, but the way they are torn up at the bottom. That was inevitable because your pants had better be too long WAY before too short. Flooding pants was the ultimate laughing stock. Also note that the shoes, well, they’re not important. I remember there not being too much emphasis on shoes. Maybe that’s because we were all in middle school and to a certain degree had to work with what we could get. But you know, random chunky tennis shoes usually completed the outfit. I do have to give a shoutout to some of the shoes that would appear in the 2000s, such as Birkenstock clogs, Wallabies, and Sperrys. And skate shoes like Etnies or DCs. But if not any of those, tennis shoes sufficed. Next is a preview of possible cheerleading uniforms. And then a couple of group shots of onlookers. I see another v-neck fleece sweater, a hoodie, a visor, a chain, spiked hair, and a turtleneck, amongst other things.

S1E11: Friday Night
Aired: 2002
This group of posts was formerly known as “Minor Character Fashion” but I am hereby renaming it to “Miscellaneous Fashion” because I also like to include group shots of people we do know. First is a look at Kwan’s class, students dressed in typical 2000s garb such as cowl neck sweaters. Then is Kwan’s night ESL class, so you get to see a variety of traditional and typical outfits representing many cultures. Then we see the sassy pizza man, the grumpy security guard, and now we are back in Kwan’s class, where Jeremy from The Princess Diaries has made a special guest appearance.

S1E10: Rumours and Reputations
Aired: 2002
Here are some random stylez for today. First is a dude with that cool middle-part-bowl-cut deal, a long sleeve under a short sleeve, and baggy pants with some sort of panel below the knee, and chunky tennies. No color of course. Stick with browns, greys, and blacks. Then another shot of some assorted baggy silhouettes, and then this nice transition shot featuring these little sunglasses.

Oh man, I guess I was hoping I’d collect more random people for this post so there’d be more of a point to it, but all I’ve got for you today is a boy in a baggy grey hoodie WITH however, what looks like bleached hair. Or would this even qualify as frosted tips maybe?

S1E7: Basketball Diaries
Aired: 2001

Here’s your rando from this episode. He’s just a dude trying out for basketball in a tee shirt, but I really wanted to share him because of his hair. That parted-down-the-middle-bowl-cut that is a leftover from the 90s, which I’m such a sucker for.

S1E6: The Mating Game
Aired: 2001
First, we have one of the dudes at the lunch table in a greyish v-neck. Then, the bike courier delivery man brings condoms to Ashley’s house in a full on outfit like he’s ready to do the Tour de France or something. Then, the cashier at the drugstore – whom I almost just referred to as a condom salesman – spends some time embarrassing Jimmy in some tourist-lookin button down. And finally, the janitor – I think this is Lou – sweeping up after all those sloppy kids.

Here in our minor section, also known as “the rando review”, we first see a 2000s mom with a short haircut and a sleeveless dress. Then is the NAK anchors in matching polos. This reminds me of the polos my sorority had us all wear for our composite photo (kind of like a yearbook photo) in 2006. Yep, giant blue polos for the thing we were supposed to look pretty in.
