Scott Smith Fashion 4.6: Scott Sucks

As much as I’d like to not include this dude/character here on broomheadz, I’m still going to. Idk, for the sake of consistency and thoroughness or something. Scott’s assortment of tight jeans and flowy shirts really paint a picture of the 80s man, complete with the baby mullet and of course the sick Degrassi jacket.

Minor Character Fashion 4.6: Rando Review

Just a few random background characters for you today. First is this girl in some sort of poncho looking thing. Then a girl in a cute striped boat neck kinda tee. Then, some nice high waisted khaki-isk pants and a sleeveless tee at the Degrassi daycare.

Patrick Fashion 4.6: Patrick Poison

Patrick, he’s so deceiving. He puts on such a nice guy front, but don’t cross him. First he wears a big dark sweater with a decorative safety pin on the breast and a…. dang it what is this hat called? A newsboy hat? And we also see him wearing his Pogues shirt with suspenders.

Melanie Brodie Fashion 4.6: Melanie Moment

Melanie just looks like some sort of 1950s housewife in these muted colored dresses and cardigans. Complete with that side half ponytail.

Luke Matthews Fashion 4.6: Luke Looksee

I feel like I’ve seen Lucy in this exact cutoff Degrassi sweatshirt. Nevertheless, I love it. We also see him in a tie-dyed tee, suggesting that he hangs out with others who wear tie-dye, such as Yick, which he does.

Liz O’Rourke Fashion 4.6: Liz Looks

Okay, I know I’m supposed to be focusing on fashion here, but let’s take a minute to assess Grumpypants Liz’s body language here. This first outfit, where she is in this brown outfit, this is where Patrick is asking Spike out. Note the crossed arms, the judgemental face, and then the frighteningly possessive way Liz places her hand on Spike’s shoulder to lead her away. And then of course the way she’s slumped up against the fence there just shows her general disdain for everyone around her. Anyway, the outfits are fine – I do like the miniskirt, but I’m neither wowed nor offended by her attire this episode.

Kathleen Mead Fashion 4.6: Kathleen Kicker

Welp, this is a Kathleen episode so here we have a bunch. I really liked this episode and its subject matter. (If you don’t remember, this is the episode that demonstrates domestic abuse between Kathleen and her boyfriend Scott). I know Kathleen spouts off all the cliche victim-reasonings we’ve grown up hearing. But I think this episode is a great opportunity to see the cliches in context, in action. It helps them make sense a little more.

Kathleen’s style hasn’t changed too much over the years. It’s kind of bland, sensible, proper, modest. She doesn’t get too crazy with colors. Her hair has always been beautiful and we wears it clipped half-back these days. We still see remnants of summertime in many outfits of this episode. The final top we see here, in the dark brown, is unusual for Kathleen. Maybe it symbolizes her downtrodden state after Scott’s attack.

Joey is experimenting with color and sporing the grey fedora. Well, the only thing I can really repeat here is that his style is, well, distinct. Oh yeah the little curly mullet tail is pretty cool.

Heather Farrell Fashion 4.6: Heather Heaven

This getup is a bit adventurous, but I’m digging it. Heather is wearing a polka-dot tank and a skirt with a crazy black and white pattern on it.

Erica Farrell Fashion 4.6: Erica Ensembles

My lovely Erica is finally starting to dress a little more like her old self! How strange and symbolic! It’s almost like beating up Liz symbolized Erica resolving her internal struggle as well, and she finally came to terms with it and is able to more forward! Erica is back to black in this cute black and white striped cardi, with a touch of cheerful yellow in the earrings!
