S2E8: Shout, Part 2

I can’t believe the depth I’m able to discover in my 200th watchthrough of DTNG. No but in all seriousness, this first shot shows Paige waking up in her room. The sun is shining, her room is cute, she’s cute, all is well… But it’s not. All is not well. And that contrast is so so interesting, the whole like, life goes on deal, life is cute and everything, but you’re a tortured soul inside. Anyway, at school Paige is wearing a 3/4 cardi over a matching tank. Upon closer examination, this pink cardi is actually snakeskin printed. She wears low-rise flare jeans, (I just love that perpetually exposed midriff from the 2000s,) hoop earrings, tinted aviator shades, and her hair curled and pulled half up. Let’s be honest, she looks much cuter than the average school girl irl. But STILL looks believable. The next ‘fit is a little blue tank with those curly hems, and a midi denim pencil skirt with a big slit up the front. As you can see, it’s still the same day IRL because she has the same exact hair. She’s got frosty shimmery eyeshadow in the inner corners of her eyes. I remember when that was so important. She wears chunky tan wedges, but they’re hard to see. Next up, is the PMS show. Paige wears a simple straight line black tank dress. Looks awesome, sees Dean and almost loses it, but keeps it together and follows through with the show. And finally, next day at school, which is definitely the same day as the first two days irl, Paige wears a pink and blue tie-dyed tank.

S2E7: Shout

As this is a Paige episode, and as Paige is a 2000s fashion queen, I’ve got a lot to show you today. This episode is a whopper but we’re going to try to keep it light, for the sake of fashion, despite the importance and gravity of this episode’s themes. We kick off with Paige in her cheer uniform and a curled ponytail. Then, this next ‘fit is one of my favorites. A white crocheted headband, blue shades, hoops, a baby blue cropped sleeveless polo with like, grommets along the neckline, and a denim miniskirt with yet more grommets. This is just elegant af. Next is the party outfit. She gets those tall strappy silver stilettos and wears an all brown getup – a brown off-the shoulder ruffly blouse and a brown pencil skirt, hair all done and everything. As iconic as the outfit is, it was hard to capture in the dark and crowded party. The next day, she wears MORE brown. These brown cropped pants have a shimmer to them, and the brown shirt is a 3/4 sleeve. She wears it all with black platforms, way before black + brown was considered acceptable. She really looks beautiful despite what she’s going through. And for some reason, this jarring all-brown-everything look is actually, pleasing to the eyes? Like a Hershey bar.

Paige instigates a boner in Kwan’s class. She wears her hair clipped half back, a blue tee with a pattern on it and ruffled hems, belted cropped khakis, and black platform mules. This is a great look.

S2E3: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

“Guys, like, take a downer!” Paige wears blue tinted glasses, a crocheted headband, and her hair all nicely curled under, with a denim button up shirt and a clear backpack. And then, for the 80s dance, she dresses as Madonna, in pedal pushers, ruffly socks, all black, big hair, a green headscarf, and a lot of jewelry.

S2E2: When Doves Cry

Paige “Mullet-chuk” agrees to go on a date with JT and her friends will pay her $30, so she can then get her mullet fixed. Man, where can I go to get my hair done for $30 please? I’ve just recently sworn off salons because I can’t afford that life. Anyway, her “mullet” is still clipped back and she wears a blue tanktop and little silver necklaces. For the date, it’s hilarious, she shows up in a zipup hoodie done all the way up and sunglasses to hide her identity. In the aftermath, I really like this shirt, it’s a multicolored blouse with a flower pattern.

S2E1: When Doves Cry

Okay so, this is the part of the B plot where Paige is convinced she has a mullet. That’s a hilarious notion, but I don’t quite see it. I mean, I see what they tried to do. They poofed up the top and pinned it back the way someone might when trying to hide an actual mullet, but… I think they could have made this even funnier. Ah well, no shade intended. Besides the “mullet”, Paige displays excellent 2000s style. First, we get some classic tinted frameless shades. She wears a butterfly crop top that looks like it came straight out of Limited Too. It’s so hilarious how obscene and jarring low rise/hip hugger jeans look today. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m just now coming to the realization that they aren’t “cool” anymore, but still, sometimes when I get hit with a sight of someone’s lower abdomen I’m like WHOA. And really that’s what makes me realize it’s not current anymore. Seriously, follow a few 2000s fashion accounts on instagram and you’ll come to a LOT of realizations. And you’ll probably be shocked at seeing 6 inches of skin below Paris Hilton’s bellybutton. Anyway, with this outfit, she’s also got a clear backpack. Next I included this shot of Paige from like, Toby and JT’s freakin, dream date webpage or something – not much to report, just wavy hair and a white shirt. Next, another set of low rise jeans, a crop top, and tinted glasses. This time the top is purple, complete with stars on the boobs. You know, she was slightly risque in the halls of Degrassi before Manny stole the title.

S1E15: Jagged Little Pill

Gag me with a spoon! Once again Paige is wearing the same hair on 2 different days – a nice unfinished ponytail with face-framing tendrils. First she’s in a fuzzy mauve sweater with bell sleeves and purple headband. Next a crocheted headband, and a red cropped tee that says “I ❤ to make boys cry”. That’s a 2000s moment if I ever saw one. And there she goes, provoking Ashley to do something cool for once – and it backfires big time.

Paige is wearing a baseball cut tee, some kind of red flare pants, black platforms, and this furry grey purse. Then she wears a pink 3/4 length top. Once again with the same hairdo.. hah, you can’t fool me! I bet this was filmed on the same day! And here we are with a tan ribbed turtleneck, and then we wrap it up with a furry jacket AND a furry purse. We are just covered in fur. I’m going to make fur a category on the blog now. PS – I just find Paige more and more gorgeous with each passing day, idk what it is, she’s just so pretty.

S1E13: Cabaret

I know this is a whole heck of a lot of Paige for one post, but this episode has some iconic fashion moments and I didn’t hesitate to capture everythin that felt right. So let’s break it down.

First is a blue cowlneck sweater, (and the neck itself has like, a shag carpet texture to it), with a bun, headband, and face-framing tendrils of hair. Outside she wears her tan fur jacket over it.

The PMS flyer is just the best – each girl wearing short shorts in what looks like camo, and tight fitting tees with “00” on them.

The next ‘fit is another headbanded bun, with a 3/4 length polo kinda shirt that has indiscernible images on it.  Also had to get a shot of those shimmery gold nails pressing play on the discman.

Alright, now for the cabaret outfit try-on. Black platform clog looking things. A sequined miniskirt. A sequined crop top. And when she dons this getup for the performance, she wears her hair down and curly, with a headband and blue tinted sunglasses, a #1 necklace, AND a feather boa. It truly is an elaborate look. And it’s amazing.

I’ve got a lot of Queen Bee Paige’s outfits for you today. First she’s in a high-half pony with face-framing strands coming down. And a shirt that says “2 Spoiled”. Amazing. And outside she wears a long brown fur coat. Next, for tryouts, she wears a shirt with “PRINCESS” on it in rhinestones. And lastly, a lavender ribbed turtleneck with a black miniskirt and hose. Also please note the furry multicolored mini backpack.
