Maya Goldberg Fashion 4.11: Maya Magic

DH FASHION
DH S1E11: All in a Good Cause
Aired: 1990

Haha, all I can think about is Maya constantly getting on to Caitlin, and in this episode it’s because Caitlin is supposed to be focused on UNICEF but instead she’s focused on People for Peace. Anyway, Maya wears this amazing sweater with legit giant pom poms attached all over it. Then of course for that sexy sunshiney carwash hosted by DH, she dons a rain jacket. And we see one other outfit, some jeans and a Kraft Dinner-colored sweater, with one of those huge hairbows Maya sometimes wears which I LOVE.

First, I can’t quite tell what Erica’s got going on here. It’s almost like some shortalls over some checkered pants? and then a white sweater. Rock it, Erica! Then for the dance she wears a black lace dress over a layer of beige, a black belt, and black hose.

Today’s Melanie moment is to be expected. A bright yellow shirt, a messed up collar, and a red plaid tie.

Joey is adding to his portfolio of repetition of course, but we also get a PJs shot and a closeup of those white hi-tops. Pretty cool.

LD Delacorte Fashion 3.8: LD Lineup

LD, old faithful, stands by her friends loyally, and doesn’t even try to dress cuter than them. Not that LD’s style isn’t cute, it’s just – simple. To start us of she sports a long sleeve tee of peach and white stripes.

ld-2

Next LD wears the classic jean skirt, with a blue tee that looks to have a stretched out neck.

Okay and honestly, I can’t tell for sure what’s happening with this sweater. I can’t tell if it’s actually woven in some weird way or if that’s just a print. Either way, this reddish sweater is a new look for LD.

CRAZ Cindy Fashion 3.7: Rando Review

I suppose this is the last time we see Cindy. I gotta say, I really admire how she fires Joey. It’s so blunt yet graceful, firm yet kind. I hope one day I can fire people in the same way. Today she looks mature but still trendy in this navy dress layered over a floral blouse, complete with shoulderpads, an updo, and big earrings.

This multicolored dress is super cool. I almost said tie-dye, but maybe it’s not. It’s made of greys and greens, cinched in with a belt, and matched with more big earrings.

Like an arrangement of flowers or a song, I present to you the beautiful expressions of Alexa’s fashion sense. Today she sports a navy neck bandanna (one that she can easily pull over her nose and mouth if she feels like holding up a train), a pale pink sweater, some olive cropped mom slacks, and some little white slip-ons.

Alexa goes masculine-chic in this oversized button down with some jeans.

And finally, Alexa considers anorexia, even though she looks beautiful as is, especially in this white quarter-length sleeve blouse and khaki pants.

Tessa Campanelli Fashion 3.6: Tessa Taste

No one get mad at my new alliterations. Like… don’t get weird with this one. By a taste of Tessa, I mean a taste of her fashion sense. Okay? I struggle with coming up with these, some of them are so stupid. This one was between “Tessa Tableau” and “Tessa Taste”. I’m not comfortable enough using the word “tableau” which I’ve never heard before, so here we are. So Tessa’s like the epitome of little preteen girl in this insane striped button down under a polka dot overall jumper thing. It’s so tacky it’s cute.

Spike Nelson Fashion 3.6: Spike Slay

spike-3 spike-4

Spike slays today in a plaid skirt and some sort of decorated tee. It says “Love Missile”. I could never catch the front. I’m no 80s genius (is it even possible to become a genius of a time you didn’t live through?!) but I Googled “Love Missile” and it’s the name of a song by a band called Sigue Sigue Sputnik. It’s really freakin weird. I see it’s described as “space punk”. So yeah, that’s highly likely that’s what Spike’s shirt is referring to. Meanwhile, in contrast to the complexities of Sigue Sigue Sputnik space punk, Joey is trying to sell Spike some Zit Remedy and she’s all “nah”.

spike-5

I love how musically-focused Spike is, also without being a musician herself. That’s how I am. So today she sports a more familiar artist on her shirt, Billy Idol. Her hair is fleekin and is freshly bleached. And I’m pretty sure in 10 years no one will know what “fleekin” means. Or it’ll be the equivalent of some term like “bling bling” is today.

Snake Simpson Fashion 3.6: Snake Segment

Snake’s segment today shows him in a personalized, bedazzled t-shirt, reading “Snake”, in case he or anyone else forgets what his name is. I also like how Snake doesn’t follow all those rules like “redheads and blondes shouldn’t wear yellow or orange”. You know what he does instead? He wears a crapton of yellow and orange.

I might’ve mentioned this before, but in college I thought of this funny concept: how hilarious would it be if someone wore a shirt with their own name on it? So I made a shirt with my own name on it because I thought it was the stupidest idea ever. Turns out…. only a couple of decades before… it was an actual thing.

snake-5 snake-6

Poor mopey-dopey Snake. Despite his distress over his brother’s sexual orientation, Snake still tries to dress with pride, in a t-shirt whose neck is overstretched, and of course more orange.
