DTNGFASHION S4E6: Islands in the Stream Aired: 2004
The fact that JT is not really around for a fashion review in this episode kind of mirrors the fact the he has distanced himself from Toby. He’s doing the long-sleeve-shirts-under-short-sleeve-shirts thing and even has these layered collars with his man necklace and shaggy hair. Ew, I’m having 2000s dating pool flashbacks. I can smell the Axe and the Polo.

How was I so sure this was JT? lol! Here he is as the mascot at the car wash. I swear, this does NOT look like it’s warm enough to have a car wash. If it was really swimsuit weather, wearing this mascot costume would be a safety hazard, no?
Ah yes, JT’s shining moment. I wonder if Ryan Cooley felt that the writers constantly abused JT. Anyway so he’s got a major confidence problem because everyone sees his peenie and it’s small. Gosh, at least he seems to have gotten a haircut. Anyway, first he’s in swim trunks, a necklace, and some shades. At school he’s got a really preppy look of layered collared shirts. Next, in gym, he’s talking about Craig in blue shorts and a tee. Oh and sorry to show you a picture of JT tinkling, but it’s a full outfit shot and we don’t get very many of those. Long sleeve shirts under short sleeve shirts for the win. As well as the wide leg jeans. I’ve also included a nice shot of the King Cobra Penis Pump. Ew, okay, and the lovemaking outfit in the bedroom, complete with the mustache sweat, is like the worst thing ever. It’s hilarious but also makes me feel so embarrassed for JT. He’s got this breezy buttondown halfway undone, exposing his chest. loool. And the sex thing doesn’t go well if you recall – so the next outfit is here at school and it’s just so sad, he’s got a ton of flowers to say “sorry you saw me using a strange genital contraption”, with a plaid button down over an athletic-inspired tee, and casual khakis. Ouch, it is just painful. I gotta say though I kinda like most of JT’s style this episode. I don’t love it as much as early JT, but it is super realistic for the time period.
This is a picture of JT making snarky comments to Snake about “a distinct lack of ice” for the drinks. Little jerk. Ugh. And his kurta is red. The end.
JT is still sporting those toned-down colors, but he does mix some patterns with his tee and overshirt. He’s also doing that long sleeve shirt under short sleeve shirt which I forget isn’t as common these days. Heck, I’d like to do that but it’s rarely cold enough here for layers. Outside he’s wearing this ugly khaki kind of jacket. And our last ensemble features a shot of both JT and Manny wearing casual khakis together.
JT is being a total clown in class and gets Emma in trouble. Annoying. But sadly he no longer dresses like a clown. He’s just wearing a couple of blue shirts, a necklace, and his bed head.
JT’s commercial is wicky-wicky-whack apparently. Actually I think everyone would really like it in real life. He gets dressed super cool in a jersey, chain, and hat. SUPA FLY FRIES! Other than that, he’s wearing colors that are increasingly more drab compared to the grade 7 JT. Just some browns, tans, khakis, and a pop of blue here and there. Maybe it’s symbolic of how his vibrancy is slowly degrading.
JT doesn’t really have a role in this episode except to be super surprised that the cool kids are talking to Toby, saying “What happened here this weekend?” I kinda love that. Anyway, he’s just wearing regular old JT clothes.
