Great, a whole lotta Craig. First, I got this shot of him trying to get into Ashley’s pants because we see a brown leather armband. Then we see him in his leather jacket, wide-legged pants, Converse, athletic-inspired tees. For sex night, he wears a gross brown button-down with like an extra large collar. And lastly… an Aquarius shirt? Is Craig and Aquarius? Or is that supposed to be a band?

Craig signed up for auto shop class because he thought it would be easy. Now he’s easily the biggest dork in there. Is he actually wearing coveralls? It kinda looks like it, or maybe just a brown jacket. Can’t really tell because thankfully he’s not a primary focus of this episode. Let me add, though, I really do like the Craig & Sean friendship, and this is about where it ends.

S3E5: Pride, Part 2
Aired: 2003
Craig is first wearing a red tee – it doesn’t really matter what it says, because his shirts definitely scream “someone else dressed me” during this era. He tops it with a leather jacket, which he does pull off. And in gym he’s wearing a blue tee.

Manny is being extra sassy, trying to raise funds for Spirit Squad. You know, when I first saw Season 3, back when it first aired here, I was certain Manny’s style was going to go back to how it was before. I thought the umm… “mature” look was going to be just a phase. And I was shocked to see that it wasn’t; also shocked to see there was no consequence. Cool! Anyway, you can’t really see what she’s wearing here but you can still tell, she’s not going back to baby tees and pigtails.

Craig’s evil nature is beginning to bloom. But we won’t go there yet. For now, we are stuck staring at his shaggy 2000s boy hair, rocker tees, baggy jeans, and jean jackets. There he is with Emma too. Man, I don’t like him but I think I would have if he and Emma had gotten together from the start. Oh, what could have been…

I know, right? Where’s the thong already? Sheesh. However, it is worth examining the fact that Craig is FINALLY dressing a bit more interestingly. Kinda like, a low-effort rocker guy. First he wears a floppy jean jacket over a sleeveless tee. Note the baggy(ish) jeans and Chuck Taylor Converse. Then we wears an “I Mother Earth” band tee. Which apparently is a Canadian rock band. And finally he’s in a green tee and just, more saggy baggy pants. But be glad there’s no more brown shirts and that yellow camera strap. Unfortunately we don’t get rid of the confused look in his eyes. No, it only gets worse. (See: Season 3. Hang on tight.)

Craig, I don’t know why I didn’t get more shots of him than this but, he’s wearing a “rocker” Nashville tee and a leather jacket. And his hair is getting poofy.

Craig is back. His hair is poofier. His jacket is still leather. But he IS upgrading to some graphic tees and sometimes some color. So… enjoy? I dunno.

Okay, I’m here trying to blog like normal on WordPress’s new editor. Hope this turns out okay. We’ve arrived at the star of the episode, Craig. He’s still wearing a bunch of brown and darkness, both at school and his father’s funeral. Such an interesting situation to portray in this episode. Craig is glad his dad is dead, but he’s also completely hurt his daddy is dead. I was reading about this idea of the “mother wound” so I’m assuming there’s a “father wound” too. So like, Craig’s dad did not give him what he needed, but at the same time, Craig still looks to his dad to be that source of what he needs anyway. And of course, there were ways in which Craig’s dad did serve as a father. Food, clothing, shelter, maybe even a little bit of fun sometimes. Perhaps that contrast is what creates the wound. It is so strange to receive both sustenance & love, and abuse & criticism, all from your should-be nurturer. What a curious arrangement we humans live in. ANYWAY, last episode, when Craig finally decides to wear some color (a Hawaiian shirt), he has a breakdown. But the breakdown is the first step to getting better. Sorry I got a little bit off the fashion tracks there!
