We conclude this episode with creepy Toby. His hair is still great and 90s-looking. First he wears a sloppy red polo with baggy jeans. And lastly, a yellow tee with a horizontal chest stripe. Creepin hard.
Oh right. We see so much Terri in this episode because her story is the B-plot. Toby and Rick are both creeping on her. First she’s wearing drawstring sweatpants, white shoes, a blue 3/4 sleeve top, and her hair up. Next, she’s literally wearing that skirt from the dance in SEASON ONE which is amazing. But I’m sure Paige had something to say about that. Next, she’s in a dark blue kinda peasanty blouse with a khaki midi pencil skirt, and hoop earrings… and this, my friends, is the beginning of the end.
God, it’s another lady I hate. My heart burns with anger when I see this lady. I just can’t. She is sooo freaking rude and mean and I understand how it pushed Ellie over the edge that morning. I completely empathize. It’s such a terrifying thing when you’re young and out in the world alone and the authority figures who are supposed to help you and make you feel safe seem to hate you, seem to want to punish you. Ugh. So this witch is wearing a periwinkle blouse and mean mugging, and I hate her. These are some really crappy “adults” Ellie’s got to choose from here. Sheesh.
Here’s the freaking world’s worst school counselor, Chantel Sauvé. She makes me sooo uncomfortable. I feel so judged. And okay, she gets Ellie into her office and just stares at her til time is up? First of all, that’s not what you do. I asked my husband who is in grad school for school counseling. Second of all, I can safely assume that is not what you do with a child who is self-harming. “Ah, okay, you don’t want to tell me about it? Well, better luck next time. Run along now!” You’ve got to be kidding me. Most adults would consider this an extreme emergency, a precursor to suicide risk. I feel like the principal and school nurse and a cop would be here by now. Although, that’s just how we react here in the southern US. Either way, I officially renounce this lady.
But onto her clothes or whatever. First a warm-hued floral top. Then an orangey-red bell sleeve top. Finally, black slacks and a vertically-striped blouse.
Of all the people that could have discovered Ellie’s bad habit, it was Paige. However, it was so interesting to see compassion between two people who don’t like each other. First, Paige is wearing a full on business suit with these bedazzled fake cateye glasses. Next she’s looking smug in class, wearing a spaghetti strap shirt with cropped jeans. And finally, she walks in on Ellie, wearing a pink flare-sleeve top, sunglasses tucked in the front as always, with low rise flare pants and some beige heels.
First Marco is wearing a khaki jacket with an orange tee. Not exactly the cutest color combo. His hair is also doin something, I guess he’s growing it out. This second look is cute though, a little red-white ombre moment.
Oof, Ellie’s mom. Sorry but I think we can all agree, she’s a total b-word, and the alcoholism is not to blame for that. She just is. I find her terrifying. She definitely dresses in a way that shows she may possibly care what other people think, and it’s demonstrated when she tells Ellie not to make a scene, and smile, during Colonel’s farewell. Despite her pearls, blouses, and shades of pink, we can still see she’s a hot mess.
