In the next shots Manny’s hair is all pigtailed and braided up, and she wears this knitted sweater of various shades of pink. And finally she wears this blue baseball tee with a rhinestone flower on the chest.

Sidekick Manny is over here in a hooded sweater, pigtail braids, and also a jean jacket. I sure am noticing a lot of hoods in the 2000s now. I also can’t help but notice every time, that when Liberty walks in and everyone stares at her seriously, and Liberty runs off, and everyone is supposed to look sad, but Manny (or rather, Cassie) is clearly trying to hold back some giggles. It’s so weird. Watch for it next time!

Okay, I can totally understand why people hate Emma. I really do. But for some reason I was just overcome with unconditional love at first sight when I first happened upon Degrassi (season 2 of TNG was airing at the time), and I just accept all her flaws with open arms. She was a firey, meddling child. She had good intentions, but she was naive. And her naivete drives her role in this episode – jumping to conclusions about Liberty and Armstrong, spreading it around the school, and assuming that she had nothing to do with it. First outfit is an awesome striped sweater of yellow, orange, and pink, paired with olive khaki flares and chunky tennies. She tops it with a jean jacket when she goes outside. And last she wears a red zip up sweater, her cross-body bag, and red pants.

Manny just over here doing her sidekick duties and catering to the Emma Nelson Show in half-pigtails, a yellow tank, then a blue hooded sweater, with jeans, and finally a zip up hoodie. Not really a lot going on with Manny’s style right now, but just wait…

Paige sure is smug in this episode. She takes on this opportunity, when cast as the Juliet to Jimmy’s Romeo, to make Ashley squirm. Then when people start to murmur about the fact that Paige isn’t a virgin, Ashley starts to feel the pressure to put out. So first Paige is in pigtails, complete with the face-framing tendrils, hoop earrings, and a pink top. Then she wears a grey tank (I can’t make out what it says though) and lots of silver jewelry. I remember how unbelievably tacky anything gold seemed at the time. Had to stick with silver. And finally, we get a peek at this purple tank, blue bra straps? and a strawberry necklace.

The contrast between grade 7 and grade 8 is amazing. While Ashley is ready to go to pound town with Jimmy, Emma is still sporting pigtails and dolphin pants. THREE pigtails to be exact. Anyway, let’s start from the beginning here. First, Emma in a yellow and orange tie-dye tee. THEN is the three pigtails, the best thing ever, and her famous famous dolphin pants. In case you didn’t know already, these dolphin pants are legendary, iconic, one of Degrassi’s most famous garments. She wears a plain blue shirt so as not to distract from the pants themselves. Then, she wears three pigtails AGAIN, with jeans, a jean jacket, and a peachy tee. One time, I wore three pigtails. I think I was in kindergarten. My mom recalls the story. She said one day I woke up for school and insisted on three pigtails; nothing else would do. So, I feel ya, Emma. It’s a look.

Emma wears a half-length sleeve tee in green. I feel like these kinds of shirts must have a name but I don’t know. I had plenty. She too sports a cross body back and has her hair pinned half back. For parents night, she wears a 3/4 length sleeve tee decorated with grommets. She’s actually being kind of annoying this episode. But I don’t know, I just love her. Although I’m realizing more and more she’s a very difficult person right from the beginning. And finally, she wears a red tee with some denim overalls.
