What a surprise… after being kicked out of Degrassi for dating a student, Mr. O doesn’t want to go to the dance at that very school with that very student?! Come on, Paige. What did you expect? He’s not gone full greasy vagabond yet, he just wears a long sleeve white tee under a short sleeve navy tee, lookin like a standard 2000s dude.
Marco’s brief little friendship with Manny is cute. It’s nice to see her really finding her own way, independent of Emma. Now she’s even chilling with upperclassmen. However, Marco is forced to make a choice, and ultimately Paige is more important to him. Awkward. He’s first sporting curly hair and a white button down over a blue tank. Then he’s in a bandanna and a long-sleeve tee. For the dance, his hair is straight and he wears all black everything except for a white tie. Hope his date choice (Paige) was worth it.
This is an interesting little episode, where Paige really starts to wear Manny down, making her life miserable. Manny tries her best to fight back but I think Paige holds more power here. I wish this saga could have been drug out a little bit. Oh well! First Manny is seen in Spirit Squad practice. Then she’s wearing a matchy-matchy velour set over a tube top with those square hoop earrings. And that pink plastic watch still, lol. She’s also still wearing her VEGAS necklace, which I still love. And unfortunately she has picked the same dress as Paige for the dance. I love it – pink, ruched, and super ruffly strapless with a dropped waist. However, the length of the dress is kinda weird, cutting off at like mid-calf, which doesn’t seem like something someone would wear during this period. Next we return to school and see the Spirit Squad uniform on her, and later those famous low-rise jeans paired with a red athletic-inspired top. Her hair looks amazing here btw. Next… Manny is being tortured in the mascot outfit. And then she returns to the dress store – I guess Paige chased her out last time – and tries on a funeral ensemble. Ultimately, though, she decides on the pink because she broke Paige’s leg and decided she deserved a treat. That’s where you can see the odd length of the dress – it kinda makes her legs look ultra-short. The shoes are odd too, like, kitten pumps. Aaand, uh oh – Paige shows up at the dance, and they have the same dress! So, Paige rips Manny’s off, and here is her underwear. Never seen a teenage girl wear underwear like this before. Finally, she’s in the locker room in a hoodie. We don’t really see Manny in hoodies, do we?
Liberty’s dress for the prom looks almost like one of those Bride-of-Dracula dresses worn for the play. We can’t really make it out well, but it’s grey and ruffly. She also wears an extra-long pearl necklace giving painful 2000s vices.
Kevin Smith Infiltrates Degrassi Part 1. Here he is, y’all. Kevin Smith playing Kevin Smith on Degrassi. He’s making a movie and using Degrassi as his set. Heck, I think they should have gone ahead and actually made this a movie in real life. Anyway, Kevin wears glasses, huge jorts, a long trench, and jackets that kinda look like bowling jackets but I’m not really sure what they’re called. Don’t worry, he’ll be back.
Prom Jimmy isn’t wearing anything fancy, really. Just a striped button-down and some sort of casual blazer. But I do like that he was entertained when Hazel told Paige off, seen here in his smile.
Although Hazel doesn’t really have a big part in this episode, it IS one of her better moments throughout the show. First she wears this New York zip up jacket with her cross body bag, and she’s kinda trying to feed Manny tips on how to reconcile with Paige. Then she’s seen in Pretty Pretty Pretty, isn’t that the name of the store? And I don’t know if she’s trying dresses on, or if she’s really wearing this halter with her bra straps hanging out. Then she’s seen in her Spirit Squad uniform, and finally, I don’t know why she wears all black to the dance. Wonder if Paige “made” her. Also would like to take a moment for Hazel’s eyebrow game. Skinny and sharp, I always love when the brows are so skinny you can see the brow muscle underneath, you know what I mean? Oh yeah and this is where Hazel TELLS PAIGE OFF! Just this once. And it’s great.
Hatzilakos wears a floral skirt with a black flare-sleeve top over a blue cami. Then she announces Kevin Smith in her usual principally attire – a blazer.
Emma, the sexual being, is seeming extra mature and confident in this episode for some reason, even though she’s really just there as Manny’s sidekick for once. First she’s in a jean jacket and a floral cami. Then she’s still decked out in Lululemon as she helps Manny try on dresses. And for the dance, she wears a black spaghetti strap dress, which is… not very Emma, I don’t know. And her hair is.. well, it’s curled. I gotta say it does look awkwardly realistic. Though isn’t her mom a hairdresser? Where was she?
