Spike!! Dang she looks different. Okay so I do want to take a moment to say that for this kickoff episode, they went really light on the DJH/DH references and involvement. I know it’s because they wanted to make it a while new show, but I just can’t believe how little references we get. See that Degrassi sweater from the olden days thrown into that box? Anyway, Spike is pretty much wearing the same outfit I had in high school – that shirt with a star which matches the orange pants. She’s got a short textured black haircut right now. And also sports those thin-framed 2000s sunglasses.

Thank the stars Lucy is back! And she is keeping up with the times because she looks 2000s as all getout. She wears this orangey-tan tank, at this length that I wouldn’t call CROPPED but it was definitely just the standard length of shirts back then. Finally I can confirm and identify certain trends because I can finally say “I WAS THERE.” She also wears the standard low-rise jeans with a belt covered in holes/hardware. The also wears thin-framed sunglasses.

So Keith is Caitlin’s fiance. He’s some important guy from LA. He’s not wearing anything special, just a button down and slacks and these aviator sunglasses (at night…indoors), and he’s very unlikeable. SO we don’t have to see him anymore after this.

Although I thought screencapping DTNG would be easier, it’s really not. My challenges now are the shaky-handheld-camera style, and a whole lot of closeups which make it hard to capture the outfit. But anyway, ENTER JT! He’s got on a giant tie-dye shirt, a nice 2000s-y necklace, and dons Joey’s old fedora for humor.

Oof, well, if you’ve seen this episode, you know Emma’s internet boyfriend Jordan isn’t real. But I guess this picture of this boy is real. And if you want to see what Emma’s type was when she was 12, it’s this kind of boy. He’s sporting a shirt with like fishing lures all over it, and wears a red cap. I’m a little sad he wasn’t real.
