Wow, this may be the most images I’ve ever included in one post. But, this is an Ellie episode, and I’m a sucker for Ellie fashion, so we’re doing this! This episode is really heavy material but we are just going to “skirt” around that and talk about fashion only, okay?

Ellie is known for combining various elements together and putting an edgy twist on them. So first we have a lace shirt under a leather vest, paired with arm warmers and a choker that feature pink detailing. And her braids will be an Ellie staple for a while. Honestly this ‘fit is a little clumsy to me and doesn’t quite work.

Next up, is an Ellie ‘fit for the ages. The white 3/4 sleeve tee with splits and buckle detailing. This is 100% something I would have worn, not that anyone’s asking. She accessorizes with spiky, chainy, chokery necklaces. She wears a red plaid pleated skirt that has some kind of suspender or strap hanging off. We also have fishnets and these amazing chunky wedge boots. It’s an amazing look and a real shame that Paige spilt something on it. She dons a big yellow raincoat for her interview with Caitlin.

Next, a brief glimpse of casual Ellie in a PJ shirt. And at school, another ensemble I love to worship. More chunky boots. Black leggings. Mesh. And a piece that I’m like 90% sure is by Tripp NYC.

Next, that white and bloody shirt over a black long sleeve with exposed seams of green. And then… AAAAH the red and black stripes, just soooo 2000s mall goth and I am living. We see a couple more outfits very briefly just to show that time is passing. So let’s skip ahead to…

The camo outfit. Cargo skirt. Grommet belt. Camo vest. Black long sleeve and arm warmers. Again, quite strange, but somehow, I’d like to say that this one works. Also featuring Ellie’s backpack which is not alt-looking at all.

Caitlin just walked out of the 70s with this tan and coral suit with an extremely enlarged collar. Not your best work, wardrobe team. Next, she wears strappy wedge sandals, a paisley pencil skirt, a burgundy top, and a motorcycle jacket. Also interesting. And lastly, we just see for a moment that she wears a sheer patterned blouse over a black cami.

Should I Stay or Should I Go?

Great, a whole lotta Craig. First, I got this shot of him trying to get into Ashley’s pants because we see a brown leather armband. Then we see him in his leather jacket, wide-legged pants, Converse, athletic-inspired tees. For sex night, he wears a gross brown button-down with like an extra large collar. And lastly… an Aquarius shirt? Is Craig and Aquarius? Or is that supposed to be a band?

So here’s Wendy. She wears a red leather moto jacket, but other than that I can’t really tell because of the shadows. Side note though, I went to find the actor’s name for this post, and her name is just “Pip”. That’s it. Pip. Went and watched the ending credits. “Wendy…Pip”. Wow, okay.

 Pride, Part 2

Craig is first wearing a red tee – it doesn’t really matter what it says, because his shirts definitely scream “someone else dressed me” during this era. He tops it with a leather jacket, which he does pull off. And in gym he’s wearing a blue tee.

Craig is back. His hair is poofier. His jacket is still leather. But he IS upgrading to some graphic tees and sometimes some color. So… enjoy? I dunno.

Tears are Not Enough, Part 2
Aired: 2003

Okay, I’m here trying to blog like normal on WordPress’s new editor. Hope this turns out okay. We’ve arrived at the star of the episode, Craig. He’s still wearing a bunch of brown and darkness, both at school and his father’s funeral. Such an interesting situation to portray in this episode. Craig is glad his dad is dead, but he’s also completely hurt his daddy is dead. I was reading about this idea of the “mother wound” so I’m assuming there’s a “father wound” too. So like, Craig’s dad did not give him what he needed, but at the same time, Craig still looks to his dad to be that source of what he needs anyway. And of course, there were ways in which Craig’s dad did serve as a father. Food, clothing, shelter, maybe even a little bit of fun sometimes. Perhaps that contrast is what creates the wound. It is so strange to receive both sustenance & love, and abuse & criticism, all from your should-be nurturer. What a curious arrangement we humans live in. ANYWAY, last episode, when Craig finally decides to wear some color (a Hawaiian shirt), he has a breakdown. But the breakdown is the first step to getting better. Sorry I got a little bit off the fashion tracks there!

Craig’s color story, however boring, is appropriate. Even though he’s got a new life now, his past still haunts him. Also, literally because his dad pulls up at school. Anyway, my point is, his past still haunts him, and his style is still depressing. Ash is intentionally depressing,  mind you. Craig is unintentionally depressing, a sad style with no direction. Here he is in a variety of colorless regular boy clothes. The leather jacket is cool though. But generally Craig just perpetually looks like he just rolled out of bed, so I feel no desire to walk through his ensembles piece-by-piece.

How Soon is Now
Aired: 2003

This is the painful episode where Ellie is dying for Marco to reciprocate her love. Thankfully we get an Ellie fashion show while we endure the plot. First, she wears her floral British flag shirt with crimped hair and a headband. She wears it with a pleated plaid skirt and that grommet belt, and either leggings or skinny flare pants. Outside she wears a leather jacket. Oh, how I miss the feeling of cold air (it’s sweltering summer as I write this). The next ‘fit is a black boat neck sweater, beaded headband, frosty eyeshadow, and spiky/chunky necklaces. And the final outfit is a shirt of tans and blues, but that’s all we can make out of the ensemble.
