Ashley’s hair is higher than ever, and she wears her usual – black lacy or mesh attire, silver jewelry, chunky bracelets, you know, still just being a general queen.

Ashley has finally settled into her new life and everything, slightly isolated but making it okay. And now, suddenly Jimmy is rekindling his feelings for her. First she wears a black 3/4 sleeve tee with an inverted red seam. shiny eyeshadow and her usual metal jewelry. Next she’s seen at Jimmy’s party and is disappointed to find out it’s not a goth club. She’s still dressed beautifully, wearing a black long sleeve dress with a plunging neckline, ornate necklace, and she has gone heavier with the makeup. And she brought CDs. What the heck kind of CDs would she have brought? For some reason I don’t think it’s Bauhaus. I wish I could make that out. Anyway, back at school she’s just wearing a black long sleeve somethin, and I also got a shot of her little backpack with an O-ring and purple spike details.

Hm, what’s a word I haven’t used recently to describe Ashley? Goddess? Queen? Majestic? Angel? Anyway, you know how I feel about goth Ashley by this point. Pure beauty and grace. We finally get a good look at her fishnet top which is kind of a mosiac pattern. She wears it under a laceup tank, with purple eyeshadow. Next she’s seen dressed down a little bit, in a black tee and some sort of jacket or cardigan.

We must enjoy these moments, these moments of Ashley’s most elegant phase. She stands tall, a goth in platforms, hovering over all in both stature and grace. She wears her hair short and red, many earrings, dark makeup, and first a webbed/netted long sleeve top (black, of course). The next top is a scoop neck, 3/4-length sleeve top – this time the sleeves are composed of a finer mesh. She accessorizes with a chunky bracelet, and wears a pencil skirt with lacing down the leg, opaque rights, and what look like Mary Jane shoes. This was completely my cup of tea in high school.

Ashley is over here with a reddened vampire pixie cut and wears that mesh shirt that reminds me of spiderwebs. Over it she’s got what looks to be a tank with corset fastening on the front. Then she’s wearing another black top with a sort of ruffled collar hem. She wears light coverage makeup of a dark hue.

This episode, Ashley is the vampire hovering over Toby with concern. Her hair is kind of reddish now. First she wears a mad smoky wing and purple eyeshadow, and filled in her brows way before it was cool. Her shirt is meshlike but it looks like webbing. I dig it. Then she’s seen in the kitchen just wearing something black and her signature earrings. You know, it’s kinda cool because Spike used to wear a bat earring too! She’s still sporting her little black backpack with the purple rubber spikes.

Yes, one of my favorite incarnations of Ashley. Majestic. Continuing down the path of goth, she wears a pendant, v-neck lacy black top, capri pants, and chunky boots reminiscent of New Rocks. She’s also got strips of blue in her hair. Next up, she’s practicing in the gym wearing another black lacy top, with time with corset-y clasps down the front. And for the PMS show at battle of the bands, She wears a dress with a plunging lacy neckline, and an ornate necklace, looking like a hot 30-year-old or something. Also peep those dark metallic nails. Next school day she’s over here in the same kind of formula, black v-neck top, though I couldn’t get a good capture of it.

Dude, I love this episode. I love both the A plot and the B plot. AND I just realized that this is Ashley’s actual blossoming into a goth goddess. We’ve seen hints of it approaching, but since the last episode she has chopped her hair off and is now dressed as a full queen. It’s interesting because, you can tell that independently, Ashley was feeling dark. But then it’s like, when she met Ellie, Ashley really let her goth flag fly. And forgive me for rambling, as someone who feels Ashley is a kindred spirit. But I totally understand Ashley, not only in her real natural inclination to the dark side, but also her need to compensate where she feels insecure still, especially around seasoned alt-girl Ellie. Ellie on the other hand isn’t trying to impress Ashley or anyone. But anyway, this is our first Degrassi goth since Faith of DJH, and I welcome her with open arms.
Ashley wears a short do and long nails; black choker and hoop earrings; black netted top and black skirt; chunky black shoes. The situation here is that Ashley wants to get a piercing for street cred to be a comparable friend to Ellie. The next day, she wears a dark cardi over yet another black ensemble. This pencil skirt has lacing down the front which I love. I had one just like it. She’s got another majestic choker on today, along with frosty blue eyeshadow and some dark lip gloss. And then of course she has an embarrassing bailout on the piercing table. Her fear of needles was stronger than her desire for clout.
And welcome to Ashley’s official goth stage. I hate to call it a phase. Even though eventually she evolves into more of a rocker type, I don’t think that is a betrayal of her goth/alt roots. They’re still there, but sometimes it’s just more practical to tone it down a bit. I don’t doubt her sincerity as a goth, even though it doesn’t last forever. And I really really enjoy it. It’s rather jarring, especially toward the end of season 2. Jarringly majestic. (Majestic being the word that I will overuse to describe her elegance.)

All I have for you today, is Ashley staring at Spinner’s boner. This is a theatre class moment so she’s wearing like, a sparkly mardi gras hat or something. We can also make out she’s got braids and a choker on.
