DTNG FASHION S3E14:Accidents Will Happen Part 1 Aired: 2004
Ashley is casually bullying Manny and then doesn’t know how to react when Manny actually speaks to her. lol. So yeah Ashley’s hair is reddened and in a short choppy cut, flipped out. The whole flipping-your-hair-out thing wasn’t REALLY in at the time as far as I remember so I feel like it just made for an awkward cut. She wears a studded bracelet and a black boat-neck tee that has some kind of yarn tied on at the left shoulder. I dunno.
I love Emma and Ashley’s few moments of activism they have together. Here, Ashley is in an olive long sleeve v-neck tee, in that perfect 2000s length to display an inch of her midriff and show off that studded belt.
First, Ashley is in a long black jacket saying how cold she is. When Craig leaves, she opens up the presents early to see her Ramones tee. Call me crazy but that doesn’t look vintage. She also finds Manny’s bracelet, but I’m including this shot to show Ashley’s shiny neutral nails. Then, Manny is doing her makeup before the show. Ash is wearing a jean jacket, a grey skirt with a decorative grommet belt, and combat boots. The outfit she was wearing when Craig Manning ruined her life.
Ashley is wearing some red and blue rock-n-roll looking shirt that I just can’t decipher. Then she’s practicing with Craig for the holiday talent show, wearing a brownish sweater with a black tee, flare jeans, and converse. She and Craig really had nice standard realistic alt-kid looks. I mean, they think they’re so alt but they’re really not wearing anything extreme, and that’s about right. Ya know? People be like “I had a scene phase” and you see pics and all they did was part their hair to the side, wear a plastic bracelet and Converse. We had to wear diluted versions of our dream styles as teens. But Ash and Craig weren’t too interested in actual fashion at this point, I’d reckon. They were just dressed casually and focused on music. They’d probably still describe their style as rocker or something anyway, ya know? The last outfit is a inter tee with a black cardi, and a leather bracelet for good measure.
Ashley is wearing a jean jacket, a jean skirt, and a band tee. And hello, yes, I would like you to know I am such a sleuth I was able to figure out what shirt this is. Bob Seger, American Storm. You’re welcome. And lastly, Ashley’s hair is very texturized and very much flipped out. I think I always struggled with accepting this hairdo because I feel like by 2003 people weren’t flipping their hair out anymore. Maybe I’m wrong. They were definitely still putting product in it to make it look as crunchy as possible, so that’s on point.
DTNG FASHION S3E7:Should I Stay or Should I Go? Aired: 2003
Welcome to episode 7. Wow, a whole lotta Ash today. Starting off, I wanted to show that chunky grommeted belt. Such accessories used to be crucial. Craig was hoping to remove that grey raglan style shirt with silky details but wasn’t so lucky, being that he hasn’t dropped the “L” word yet. She is then at school wearing a green jacket and some punk rock shirt. What do you guys think of her hair? I’m not really sure myself. Anyway, next we are in her kitchen. Check that bracelet. And there’s I guess a 2000s mom apron. Oh yeah, she tries to break up with Craig right there. Anyway, then we go back to school and she’s wearing this shirt that looks like some adult who was instructed to “dress her like she’s a rocker girl” picked out. This silhouette is a perfect illustration of a classic 2000s casual look. Tight fitting tee and looser fitting, low-rise pants with a fat belt. I also like that her bracelet/arm band is subtle yet adds so much. Ah yes, I also had to get a look at the shimmery nail polish. And, finally, as for this party outfit, I really don’t know what to say. It’s nothing Ashley would ever wear. I don’t think I like it. I’m not sure if it’s the tulle(?) poofy sleeves, the fact that tulle is incorporated with a t-shirt, or if it’s this color. Or if it’s the fact that tulle is incorporated with a grommeted belt. Or if it’s the fact that there are ruffles both at the end of the sleeves and around the collar. Idk man, what do you guys think of this shirt?
Ashley is just completely glued to Craig for now. RIP to Goth Ash. But, I mean, she pulls this rocker look off really well, and it does seem to be better aligned with her actual interests. Her hair is still nice and red, and she wears a graphic tee and an armband with jeans. I ALSO WANT TO POINT OUT SOMETHING EXTREMELY SIGNIFICANT. Her freaking bellybutton is pierced?! Looks like she overcame that extreme phobia of needles? Wish we’d had an episode about that! Anyway, this shirt she’s wearing is quite interesting. It’s got a sleeve on one side and no sleeve on the other side!
Ashley is first seen in Joey’s garage in what looks to be a grey tank, khaki skirt, and black leggings. Then, she’s educating the student body with Emma about the dangers of tropical hardwood toilet seats, wearing a green ringer tee under a black halter top, complete with a studded belt.

You GUYS!!! We have just crossed the line into SEASON 3! Isn’t this surreal? The kids are growing up right before our eyes. And this episode finally gives us old-school fans a little bit of attention. We also get to see major style changes in many of the gang. Which is bittersweet. For example, Ashley has taken a few steps back from the extremity of goth and just settled on “rocker girl”. I mean, it’s okay. It’s whatever. She’s grown her hair out a bit and it has some red color in it. She’s nonchalantly wearing a random tee and low-rise jeans. And she sees an old picture of Spike and is already talking about how maybe that should be her next look. Trend-squatter!
