I can’t believe I’m here writing about TNG Emma Nelson, the reason why I got hooked on Degrassi in the first place! She’s got these like, side half-buns, a periwinkle tank and matching shorts. And then some green PJs.

Caitlin’s back, and of course she’s kinda famous! But it’s so weird that even though she’s famous and rich, she’s not 100% happy, right? Anyway, so apparently, the age she is right here in this episode is the age I am right now. LOL. I look and act more like the school kids to this day, but whatever. Anyway, she’s got this short haircut and a nice blonde color. She wears this skin-tight red tank top with horizontal slits along the back, and some black pants. And we get a little look at the giant rock on her hand bought for her by a total jerk.

This feels crazy. Finally writing about DTNG after 4.5 years of broomheadz is a long-awaited and exciting moment. Although DJH/DH are my favorite, DTNG is what I grew up with. In 2001 I was 13. Let’s do this!

We start off with Angie, Joey’s daughter. She’s wearing an orange tee, some turquoise overalls, a floral bandanna, and a cute little necklace and bracelet.

I can’t believe this is it. We sign off of Degrassi Junior High / Degrassi High forever now, with Yick! Man, you thought Yick was cool before, he has reached maximum coolness by School’s Out – look at this! He smokes a joint in a bandanna and backwards cap, a tee with a vest, and jeans rolled up at the bottom. At the lake he’s still besties with Luke I see, and wears the same headgear and a cool 90s looking tee. And finally, at Simon and Alexa’s wedding he’s got that hair slicked back and a nice tan suit. OK YICK!

Wheels Wheeler Fashion: School’s Out!

The images within this post bring so many thoughts. Despite his unexplainable loveability, Wheels wasn’t the best person – we all know that. And I feel like in this episode, all his faults and worst qualities culminated into a perfect storm that ended in disaster. This ending was just, such a shocker. I mean, I kinda already knew about it because I watched it in like 2015 after I’d already kinda heard it mentioned in TNG and the internet and whatnot. But I can’t imagine what people were feeling, watching this for the first time in 1992.

Anyway, Wheels’s style has changed a bit by now. His hair is longer and poofier, and his clothes are greasier and dirtier, and he wears more bandannas. It’s a look though, I do like it. But his looks and behaviors do make me uneasy throughout the movie. I don’t know why, it’s like, he’s throwing all caution and care to the wind, and you can see it happening. He’s turned super smug and doesn’t look or seem like himself.

And can we just take a moment to talk about that deleted scene from DTNGS1E1 at the class reunion where Wheels comes to apologize to Lucy? Man that is heart-wrenching. But I’m glad he came out the other side. And I hope he found some joy.

Vicky is here and she even gets a line! First she wears a floral sleeveless dress, and then a cute little tie dye dress,  and finally at the wedding she wears this very 90s looking polka dot dress/suit.

Tim has really let even more loose since we last left off. Here he’s spotted smoking and drinking, wearing a nice billowy shirt. At the lake party, he’s in more tie dye, and then at Simon’s wedding he dresses it up a bit but he looks like he’s talking about how much action Simon is going to get later!

I’m sad Spike didn’t play a bigger role in School’s Out, but at least we get a bunch more of her in TNG! Basically, it’s just a lot of her wearing this orangey uniform to work at the photo lab. But she does have a gorgeous royal purple ruffly top and a fresh bleach job to Simon and Alexa’s wedding.

Snake Simpson Fashion: School’s Out!

We get a lot of Snake and we sure haven’t seen the last of him, goodness. I’m actually in the process of screenshotting Degrassi Next Class (before I delete Netflix ASAP) and 20 years later he’s still all up in it. So let’s get into it. Here he is in his graduation robe. He plays pool in some shirt, it’s too dark to tell what’s on it. But come on, the reason you’re all here at School’s Out isn’t for the sex or bikinis, it’s for Snake’s lifeguard getup. He wears this bright yellow, blue, and white tank, these incredibly small shorts, a bucket hat that seems a little small, and slathers on that sunscreen, right on the nose. Schnoz? I felt the need to write schnoz. Sometimes I’m like channeling some other person when I write these things. No offense but that pool is just not cute. Maybe that was the point. And then Snake learns he’s the only virgin left in this cool staticy tee. Oof, then he’s got on this weird striped polo with flowers on it? It’s like horrible, but I also like it, you know? And at the final party where ALL IS EXPOSED…. Snake wears a stripedy tee. And a scowl. He goes off to college – sorry, university – looking mighty mature in a teal polo. Then he brings his new piece of tail to Simon and Alexa’s wedding – Pam. And Snake is all suited up.
