Here’s Hazel busting Paige at the mall on a date with JT. Oof. She wears a red zip up hoodie and tiny shades to disguise herself.

Okay so, this is the part of the B plot where Paige is convinced she has a mullet. That’s a hilarious notion, but I don’t quite see it. I mean, I see what they tried to do. They poofed up the top and pinned it back the way someone might when trying to hide an actual mullet, but… I think they could have made this even funnier. Ah well, no shade intended. Besides the “mullet”, Paige displays excellent 2000s style. First, we get some classic tinted frameless shades. She wears a butterfly crop top that looks like it came straight out of Limited Too. It’s so hilarious how obscene and jarring low rise/hip hugger jeans look today. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m just now coming to the realization that they aren’t “cool” anymore, but still, sometimes when I get hit with a sight of someone’s lower abdomen I’m like WHOA. And really that’s what makes me realize it’s not current anymore. Seriously, follow a few 2000s fashion accounts on instagram and you’ll come to a LOT of realizations. And you’ll probably be shocked at seeing 6 inches of skin below Paris Hilton’s bellybutton. Anyway, with this outfit, she’s also got a clear backpack. Next I included this shot of Paige from like, Toby and JT’s freakin, dream date webpage or something – not much to report, just wavy hair and a white shirt. Next, another set of low rise jeans, a crop top, and tinted glasses. This time the top is purple, complete with stars on the boobs. You know, she was slightly risque in the halls of Degrassi before Manny stole the title.

So JT’s got the B plot in this 2-parter. He wants to ask Paige Michalchuk on a date. I’m sorry, but hetero guys so often have absolutely no perception of when a lady is out of their league. It’s very frustrating sometimes. No offense to JT but he’s a boy. Paige is a woman. Gotta love his style though. First is a Hawaiian shirt open over a tee with a horizontal chest stripe. Backwards hat, baggy pants, tiny cool-guy sunglasses. That picture of him doing a creepy grin in the sunglasses is when he’s saying “Come to papa” about Paige. Gross. Then, he wears a green tee with a skateboard on it, with a necklace and another backwards cap.

Welcome back, Ashley! I love goth Ashley but it’s also bittersweet to know this is one of the last few times we’ll see “normal” Ashley. So, she’s still being shunned this year after taking ecstasy at the end of year party last year. She’s wearing this 3/4 sleeve top that has like, a scene perhaps? on the front but the sleeves are black. Her hair has gotten longer, and she still sports that cross body bag with her little phone tucked in the front pocket. Then we have a little shot of her wearing red, my favorite color on her.

I swear, JT is the new Melanie sometimes with all these bold and or primary colors. I love him, he reminds me of Bart Simpson or something. So first we get him in a red cap, yellow long sleeve under a blue short sleeve, and of course a necklace. I’m getting an inkling that JT dressed much cooler than Ryan did. No offense Ryan, love ya! And then he appropriately wears tie-dye to compliment the lava lamp on the night he does ecstasy – I mean, aspirin.

Emma is sporting some pigtails and wearing a long sleeve, horizontally striped pink top. On her way to the party she tops it with a denim jacket that has frayed seams all over. And I LOVE Emma forever and I think she’s beautiful, but once again, I get a kick out of the contrast between Emma and Ashley right now (because Sean is involved with both of them). Emma is a little girl still and Ashley is a straight up WOMAN. For now anyway.

Wow, I can’t believe we’re already at the end of Season 1! And this episode is a whopper. I love it. And we kick off here with the star of the ep herself, Ashley. First she’s in a red v-neck long sleeve tee, and one of those zigzag headbands – and she’s let her mushroom hair out to breathe. (For the record, I call it a mushroom cut out of total admiration.) She completes the look with some black pants.
And then, for the party, she wears this navy tank, a grey wraparound cardi, a 90s lookin necklace, and a stupid waist apron that she never takes off even though she literally hasn’t cooked anything. But I guess they wanted her to have some kind of pocket to store her drugs in and lord knows women’s clothing don’t have any pockets. Her hair is fluffier than ever and she wears a spot of shimmery eyeshadow on her lids. Oh yeah I also got a shot of her nice grandma nails, holding that little ecstasy pill which she’s about to drop right down her throat to REALLY get the party started. And I can’t help but laugh every time she stumbles out of that bedroom after snogging (which I first tried to spell like ‘schnogging’) Sean. She FINALLY took off the apron, she untied her cardi, and her gigantic purple bra strap is hanging out. (Oh yeah, I’m pretty sure she took off the apron while dancing and spun it over her head like a helicopter.)
And finally, the next morning, she’s wearing her pajamas and slippers. I don’t know anyone that actually sleeps in those where I live. It’s too hot. Anyway, I love this episode because, well, Ashley really did screw up like painfully bad, but you also feel sorry for her.

Spinner’s got his hair spiked and is wearing a cool 2000s dude short sleeve over a long sleeve tee, baggy khaki pants, and I had to include this discman. He also has on that spiky necklace. So, after Kwan breaks his discman, he has to report to caf duty, his community service after letting earwigs loose in the caf. Then he dons a jacket to go troll Kwan after hours. The next day he boasts about how he got Kwan to cry, and he’s wearing an olive green long sleeve.
