Manny’s in the play because “she’s gonna be an actress” and everything. She wears a tight tank with a rainbow on it, hoop earrings, low rise jeans, and a petticoat for rehearsal. She’s trying to get through to Emma with suggesting a cozy girls’ night, but Emma wants other stuff.
So, Liberty and JT literally JUST got together and they’re already fighting. Ya know… she was kind of a mean girlfriend. She is first seen in this shirt of horizontal stripes, and then in a polo layered over a cami with a jean skirt.
Our former Bart Simpson-turned-prep is directing the Dracula play with his new lover, Liberty. I mean, his style is refreshingly familiar for its time, but I don’t see it being reflective of our lovable class clown.
Jay, the man who can get away with anything! I wonder what his case of gonorrhea looked like for him. Anyway, despite what he’s got going on in his pants, he’s still got style, am I right? He too is doing freakin theatre for some inexplicable reason. But he’s wearing his backwards hat and a chain necklace, and just more of the typical Jay attire – although he’s kinda shifted away from the athletic/Nike look a bit. Oh yeah and shoutout to his car. I know nothing about cars, but.. it’s orange.
It’s time for our BJ queeeeen, yeeessss! Ya know… Emma was experimenting. That’s normal, that should be fine, right? Idk why they had to portray it as such a morally bad decision here on the show. But, I mean, I guess her decision to experiment wasn’t coming from the right place. She was in a bad spot. But on the other hand, does it need to come from the right place?
Anyway, she sure had mastered looking dead inside these days, huh? Maybe this was just the thing she needed to bring her back to life! lol. Okay okay, let’s get on with the fashion. First she is in “semi-dress” rehearsal wearing some layered tanks. She looks super tall next to Alex and Emma, right? For all I know she’s about 5’7, so it looks like bad girls club is just super shirt. Emma’s bangs look…ok. And her hair is flat. Her clothes are extremely tight; I do remember those days. And of course, her pants are LOW. I guess this is a really good example of where Emma is in life. She’s still wearing those earthy Emma colors, and she’s still carrying the usual bag, so it’s like she’s still herself deep inside, but her style is drained of creativity. Outside she wears a jean jacket to make it a Canadian tuxedo, and sports these little flimsy headphones. Also had to show you that cell phone, wow. The final few shots are really just more boring Emma clothes, then another dress-like rehearsal, and also a little shot of that infamous bracelet. Oh yeah, the final fit with the jean skirt and the Airwalks is super cute.
I wish the bracelet thing had continued, even if in the background. Like maybe showing people wearing them. It would have been awesome to keep the legacy going too, like having Next Class kids doing the bracelet thing. Or at the very least, Esme having some on her wrists or something.
We get Danny hanging around in this episode, just a little bit – because he’s in the play. Is he Johnathan? I can’t remember. Anyway, here he is in a typical outfit, but most notable are those wide-legged pants which I miss so much these days.
Craig and his goulash mouth are onto Ashley. There’s definitely tension between them as she is acting like his caretaker rather than his girlfriend. He wears some of the usual – denim, leather, tees, and probably Chucks on his feet.
While some girls are worried about BJs and bracelets, Ashley is worried about her bipolar boo. First she’s seen brooding in a jean jacket. Then she wears this crazy shirt that looks like some sort of DIY hybrid combining tigers and basketball. She wears low-rise jeans with a studded belt, and a khaki jacket later on.
Amy is SUCH a perfect 2000s badgirl, especially combined with Alex. They are terrifying. She wears that tight ponytail, those tight shirts, pencil-thin eyebrows, and of course, those “wire” plastic bracelets…
“We hunger, we long.” For some reason, Alex is into drama (like, on stage, not just in the halls). She looks hilarious here in rehearsal with these shades, hoops, bra straps hangin out, and hair up in a clip. And shoutout to one of my favorite Alex looks, “the sexy mechanic” – baggy jeans and a cropped tank under what looks like a men’s workshirt tied up at the waist.
