JT’s grandma is here. One of the only times we get to see her. She’s giving me the impression she was a hippie back in the 60s. But now she ain’t about that free love anymore, because she is furious that her grandson is pregnant. Here she is in a purple set, a lot of beads, and some tiny glasses.

JT’s life is shifting. Just when he thinks he finds out what he wants to do, which is entertain children, his life takes a sharp turn since he impregnated a girl and now has to finance that. Apparently being on TV doesn’t pay as much as stocking shelves so, the pharmacy at the mall it is! As usual, he’s preppy with that swoop hair, but we also see him channeling his inner Blue’s Clues guy… and he also dressed like a turkey. But then, he had to shed the turkey costume for the blue vest.

Jay has started lurking around JT at the pharmacy, because he sees a golden opportunity. He’s growing his hair out – aw I wish he’d followed through with that – and wears baggy jeans and inconspicuous tees and colors.

Emma time! She first appears in classic Earthy Emma tones, sporting some athleisure and her classic trusty bag. Ew, and this is where Craig and Manny randomly decide to hook her up with Derek. My soul shrivels like a raisin at the thought. How do these two jokers even KNOW Derek? They say through Jimmy. But come on. It doesn’t work. Next we see her at school wearing a 2000s skin-tight-t-shirt that says Free Spirit, as well as some cropped jeans and flats. Next up is a tie-dye tee an some jeans with patches on them. She’s resisting the temptation of Peter. Look, Peter could be seen as somewhat enticing and mysterious here in Season 5. But BRO does he take a nosedive in Season 6. More on that later.
And finally, the date. One of the most PAINFUL moments of Degrassi. I am filled with cringe. And I am also filled with rage that this was written into the show at all. It’s insulting. Manny was supposed to have recommended this? Does Manny not know Emma at all? The more I think about this the less it makes sense. I mean, look at the two of them? Emma looks like her mom made her take her little brother to the mall. Anyway, Emma looks hot but didn’t try too hard, thank goodness, because it’s not worth her effort. She wears layered camis with a jean skirt and sandals. And thankfully she is very honest with Derek and aborts the mission. IMAGINE. IMAAAAAGINE if they continued to date. I might have had to quit watching this show.

Ick, it’s the Liz of TNG. (Meaning, my most-hated.) He deserves no forgiveness from Jimmy, but hell Jimmy is super gracious. Here’s Derek in some nasty athletic wear. And I’m not buying the basketball star thing for a minute.

Time for the rando roundup. First we see this guy who runs the wheelchair basketball team, and he’s kind of a dick. In the museum we see a girl with a jean miniskirt and those half-leggings underneath, with flats. A very 2000s look. I never liked that half-legging trend back then. And finally, this girl in the Baby Making class wears a spagetti strap top and casual khakis.

Cool Marco Era continues. Sadly though we only see a glimpse of him in this hat which seems to be a newsboy-baseball hybrid. Of course that collar is popped and he is accessorized.

Somehow JT is wearing the same outfit again in this first frame that he was wearing last episode. But okay. He and Liberty are just two miserable peas in a pod. He’s wearing the preppy chic while she’s in… haha PREGGO chic! I’m hilarious. Anyway, he is seen in layered shirts, the swoopy hair, casual khakis, and even a freakin sweater vest, something which I don’t think I ever saw in real life during this time. Also, just the other day I was telling my friend, the further away we get from this era, the MORE AND MORE I hate this hairdo. Which is not typically the case for vintage styles! haha.
