S4E16: Eye of the Tiger

Danny time! He’s feeling very left out as his bestie and his sissy begin their era of kissy kissy. Danny looks all skatery in this graphic tee, casual khakis, and skate shoes. Then we see him in jeans, a hoodie, and like, some kind of backwards newsboy hat?! Very weird choice. From there he and JT get into it, and as we can see, Danny has been trained heavily in martial arts.

S4E13: Bark at the Moon

WOW, tons of Manny today, and she is SO stylish I couldn’t stop screenshotting. We have an awesome color palette form her this episode – it’s a valentine’s day episode so we get red, pink, yellow, and orange.
The first outfit is this kinda athleisure-lululemon-looking zip-up top with a yellow cami underneath. This top matches perfectly to her bright ass pink fedora. It’s so offensive, I love it. She’s wearing a ponytail with what I call “face-framing tendrils” left out. We also see her low-rise jeans and pink plastic watch.
Then, she’s in… this is almost like a track suit, but it’s got a skirt with it. It’s a super weird athletic looking set without actually being athletic-appropriate. It’s a nice creamy orange color and she wears a pink cami under it. Her hair pulled half back this time, but the face-framing tendrils persevere. She is showing Chester around and falls in love pretty instantly.
Next, we see her looking super flirtatious on the TV announcements at school, wearing a short sleeve track jacket in red. Are y’all liking this straight hair? I guess I like Manny’s hair in all its forms tbh.
I for some reason really like this next outfit. Just a blue tee with hoops and a ponytail, but for some reason she really pulls this off and makes it look so cute. It says “Babe” on it, similar to those like, “90% Angel” shirts and whatnot. lol. I love it, where can I get one? Actually, I could never pull off clothing with “pet names” on it. Reminds me of that time I tried to wear a choker that said “Bitch” on it but didn’t even last the day.
Now we have this outfit here in the school assembly that we hardly get to see. It’s like, some kinda halter with grommets and a zigzag lace front. Looks pretty 70s, it’s a shame we can’t see it better.
And finally, at the dance, Manny wears a tight red halter, a matching red newsboy hat, giant heart earrings, a jean skirt, and some wedges. Ah yes and when she goes out into the cold to cry to Spinner, she adds a jean jacket. Hey wait a minute… February in Toronto has GOT to be colder than this! Oh,… maybe it’s just a sweetheart dance and not a Valentine’s dance? Eh, whatever.

S4E10: Neutron Dance

Manny is hilarious in this episode. She kind of “joins the band” per Spinner’s request. I don’t really know why she goes along with it all so smugly, I mean it’s kind of out of character for her. Buuuut maybe she just wants to be petty and annoy Craig and Ashley. Or maybe Spinner’s piss poor attitude rubbed off on her. Anyway, her style is POPPIN’ today. First is this cropped halter shirt with a pink and blue floral print on it, paired with suuuuuper low rise jeans. I’m really starting to look back at the 2000s with disgust. Not because I hate the style, but because of these unrealistic body expectations. The NEXT outfit is one of my favorites!! An orange cowboy hat with a diagonally-striped orange tube top and jean skirt. Are we SERIOUS!? I mean, Manny’s style was really out there. Realistically, no one would be wearing this to school. It’s a fantasy but I love it. Manny’s style at this point is like, things you’d see in a music video. Not the halls of school. And the final fit is more PINK – this big pink newsboy hat and a pink tracksuit. LOVE.

Marco’s dad! I posted him out of my usual order because I had to go back and recap some corrupted files. First we see him in his work clothes, and it looks like the name of his company is “Print Three”. Next he’s in a checkered shirt like “you’re doing amazing sweetie!” at Marco’s speech. And the last pic is him looking super Italian somehow in a newboy hat and brown jacket.

Apparently this is the first time Marco’s parents have been featured on broomheadz! Also, Marco’s mom has a first name but his dad does not. Weird. Anyway, he somehow looks super Italian in his layers and newsboy hat. He also sports a nice mustache which will always bring me back to the thought of Wheels’s birth dad. Marco’s dad is very fussy and high energy. But he’s sweet. But homophobic. Degrassi really hits us with the complexities of personalities, right? I mean you want to like him but you also don’t.

Marco is here serving as Ellie’s security blanket as she explores the world of gilfrienddom. First he’s wearing some kind of graphic tee with motorcycles on it with a zip up jacket. His outfit to the movies is pretty interesting. He’s got a tan corduroy newsboy hat, brown jacket, flannel, orange shirt, popped collar, and jeans that are probably flared. Bellbottoms on guys is a look I LOVE TO SEE! Back in class he’s in a brown jacket, blue tee, flared and cuffed jeans, and dressy brown shoes.

S3E14: Accidents Will Happen Part 1

Manny is the star of the show today. She’s also the star of the gymnastics team. So we get several shots of the practice leotards, tracksuit, and also the fancy meet leotard. But on to her regular clothes – first we get a classic Manny look – an asymmetrical off-the-shoulder top featuring a tropical landscape. The exposed bra strap and newsboy hat are very nice touches. But things go downhill from there. And like Stephanie Kaye, we can see that as Manny begins to feel more downtrodden, her wardrobe tends to reflect that. So her hair is just worn in a plain low ponytail, minimal accessories, and a brown shirt. Then she’s running in athletic clothes and a zipup hoodie (love that scene!). And then, she waits for Craig in again, not the typical Manny attire.

We’ve arrived at Chris, whom I believe to be the one referenced in the episode’s title, “This Charming Man”. Chris’s style makes it absolutely clear what he’s into – music. This first shirt has headphones on it. He wears a bucket hat and chain to accessorize. Next he’s in a blue newsboy hat and a dark wash baggy Canadian tuxedo. And of course those giant headphones. Next, he’s in another newsboy-type of hat but this time it’s backwards. He wears more baggy stuff, and more denim.

I did a poll on whether this stupid hat with the stupid bangs tucked in was one of the worst fashion choices in Degrassi history, but a lot of you did not agree. Oh well, I still stand by my opinion that this hat is a big NO. And apparently Craig didn’t like it either because we never see him wear this again. So first he’s all cocky in the mall in that hat and a leather jacket. Then he’s playing guitar in fingerless gloves. At school he wears an Oktoberfest tee and a flannel. And unfortunately he puts the hat back on for our final shot.
