SPOTTED! JT actually having a good time with Liberty and forgetting to act like he hates her. Love him in the hot pink.

My girl is in RED again! Yes! Ellie time! She’s still wearing funky updos featuring crimped hair. I just love this first look. I’m sad we don’t get more of it. It’s a white tank which is some kind of athletic + Hot Topic fusion, and i think this might be the shirt with the fake blood stain on the front. She wears it over a red long sleeve and with a red choker. Then she serves more athletic + Hot Topic fusion in this shirt that I swear looks like a New Balance shirt but I guess it’s not. It’s DIY distressed and worn over a mesh long sleeve, paired with a black skirt and her grommet belt. I swear, I don’t understand why Stacey Farber did not convert to this wardrobe IRL after being dressed in these amazing ensembles on the show.

Okay, I’m here trying to blog like normal on WordPress’s new editor. Hope this turns out okay. We’ve arrived at the star of the episode, Craig. He’s still wearing a bunch of brown and darkness, both at school and his father’s funeral. Such an interesting situation to portray in this episode. Craig is glad his dad is dead, but he’s also completely hurt his daddy is dead. I was reading about this idea of the “mother wound” so I’m assuming there’s a “father wound” too. So like, Craig’s dad did not give him what he needed, but at the same time, Craig still looks to his dad to be that source of what he needs anyway. And of course, there were ways in which Craig’s dad did serve as a father. Food, clothing, shelter, maybe even a little bit of fun sometimes. Perhaps that contrast is what creates the wound. It is so strange to receive both sustenance & love, and abuse & criticism, all from your should-be nurturer. What a curious arrangement we humans live in. ANYWAY, last episode, when Craig finally decides to wear some color (a Hawaiian shirt), he has a breakdown. But the breakdown is the first step to getting better. Sorry I got a little bit off the fashion tracks there!

Here we have it guys, our last look at goth Ashley. Before she tones it down to “rocker chick”. It’s technically the same episode, so of course she’s still sporting the same hair etc. etc. She wears a tee with that reversed seam – I used to have some shirts like that. And then for the dance, I really like what she’s done. She dressed like everybody else, festively, but made it black. So, a black grass skirt, a black lei. I always found that really inspiring. It shows functional assimilation while still declaring your individuality. Bye, goth Ashley. I love you.

This is one of the last times we see Craig and Sean’s cute little friendship. It’s really sad, I do like them as friends for some reason. He wears his jean jacket and baggy jeans, and it won’t be long before Sean’s style entirely evolves into something else.

Ah yes, matching your eyeshadow to your shirt. Okay honestly I see no issue with doing so. I like to match my eyeshadow to my shirt and to my shoes. When people make fun of matching your eyeshadow to your outfit I always wonder, “Well what the heck other color am I supposed to pick then?” Anyway, Paige is wearing purple on purple, has her hair pulled half back, and is graciously allowing JT to talk to her for a brief moment.

JT is worried about finals in this episode too. He has a dark jacket, blue backpack, backwards hat, and a yellow tee. Next is a red hat, khakis, and a red and white tee with a grey overshirt. I just love his colors. It seems that no other dudes at Degrassi wear them.

Ladies and gentlemen and friends, Ashley has PEAKED!!!! This is the climax of Ashley Kerwin’s style. Here we are, at the zenith. The apex. I worship this. She is a beautiful fallen angel who walks in grace. Her black are blacker than black and she strikes fear into the heart of the simpleton. It’s winter, we can see breath hanging in the air, and Ashley dons many layers. We see mesh detailing under her sleeves, hooked on to her middle finger. She wears a skirt, leggings, boots, and jacket all in the perfect black. Her hair seems freshly-dyed and her makeup is darker than ever. The fur on the coat is my favorite detail. And I love the way Craig is so genuinely interested in her, just digging her, no matter what. There was something so pure about that, especially compared to the Jimmy relationship. I don’t like Craig and Ashley as a couple, but I felt the connection they made here in this season finale was really touching.

Wait, is this our first time seeing Sauve?? I think it is! You know, maybe at first I think I liked Sauve. Now that I’m a grown up, and understand how grown ups are supposed to act, and now that my husband is studying to become a school counselor, and I know how counselors are supposed to act, I’m not really a fan of her that much anymore. Unrelated, she’s beautiful, but that doesn’t really matter, because we are here to talk about her clothes. First she wears one of those awesomely-2000s matching top & cardi sets in red, and her hair is pulled half back. Then she wears a vertically-striped button down under a brown suede looking vest. I feel super judged by her. Look at that gaze.
