Oh no, this is the last time we see dear Tracker! I’m so sad. He’s moving to Alberta. Goodbye, darling Tracker. This isn’t the BEST outfit to leave us on, but we will always remember the colored sunglasses and bandanna.
Wait, is this our first time seeing Sauve?? I think it is! You know, maybe at first I think I liked Sauve. Now that I’m a grown up, and understand how grown ups are supposed to act, and now that my husband is studying to become a school counselor, and I know how counselors are supposed to act, I’m not really a fan of her that much anymore. Unrelated, she’s beautiful, but that doesn’t really matter, because we are here to talk about her clothes. First she wears one of those awesomely-2000s matching top & cardi sets in red, and her hair is pulled half back. Then she wears a vertically-striped button down under a brown suede looking vest. I feel super judged by her. Look at that gaze.
Paige is the star of the show today! First he’s got boho vibes in Sauve’s office, wearing tiny braids in her hair and a mauve laced-up top, which is lined with lace, is slightly cropped, and has bell sleeves. She wears low-rise jeans and black platforms. Next she’s in her spirit squad uniform. I also got a closeup of her face just to show the makeup of the time. And on doomsday, she has the SAME hair, and wears a brown top with some kinda design on it. Outside we see her brown pants, platforms, and blue puffer vest. It must be super cold outside because here on the steps it looks like over her spirit squad uniform she had to wear a sweatshirt, a vest, and pants. I also got a shot of her Sketchers (or something similar). From my perspective, Sketchers were the shoes that always really wanted to be cool but never quite were. And now we’re back in Sauve’s, and Paige wears a brown, yellow, and orange floral top that seems super 70s. It has bell sleeves as well, and like normal she keeps her super cool shades tucked into the front.
Oh Marco, he’s really pretending everything is fine and chill and Ellie is gonna call him out on it. First we see him in a red puffer vest. Then a ribbed sweater with a horizontal chest stripe (at this point I might as well call them HCS’s because we see it so often). Next, we see him in this like, circus commercial he and Ellie are making. Idk, he wears a bunch of costume pieces in garish colors. Next, he’s in a tan and beige tee with HAS, horizontal arm stripes, lol. And then, the NEW commercial is a Matrix-looking theme where Marco wears sleek shades and a black turtleneck. And finally, he’s in a navy long sleeve tee and tells Ellie, “Bruh, I’m gay.”
S2E19: Fight for your Right Aired: 2003
I’m serving up heaps and platefulls of non-genetically-modified Emma for you today. This is another one of the very first “new” degrassi episodes I remember seeing on TV. Emma fighting against GM foods, which grows into a larger fight against the system. One of my screenshots was corrupted so I hope that I didn’t miss anything. First Emma is seen practicing her presentation in a tie-dye tee and zip up hoodie. Then she’s walking to school with her cross-body bad, a vest over a sweater, and a hat. Her jeans have little flowers embroidered on them. Oh yeah, she also has a Kyoto button on her collar. Okay, next up is where I”m missing a file that shoes Emma is wearing a long sleeve grey tee with “GM Foods” written on the front surrounded by a circle with a slash through it. And then as you see on the back it says “1 BAD IDEA”. Her bag has lots of key chains dangling off, as was cool back in the day. Then, we are on Emma’s couch and I can’t quite make out this shirt, but it’s dark in color and long sleeved. And finally, she makes her anti-apology to the school wearing a burgundy shirt with a butterfly on it.
JT is creeping on Hatzilakos in a baggy yellow long sleeve tee, and baggy jeans, sporting a necklace and spiked hair. Next is another long sleeve, this time in red and navy, and a backwards hat. This next one is quite a look. Orange pants, a green long sleeve with that horizontal chest striped, an orange vest, and backwards hat. And finally, we get a disheveled button down over a ringer tee, and a mature smile.
S2E10: Take my Breath away Aired: 2002
Marco is slowly being introduced as this coveted cool guy. And honestly his clothes are and continue to be a breath of fresh air compared to some of the other dudes. For this little B plot to go alongside Manny’s disastrous date, Ellie is over here having a secret crush on Marco. This first photo, though distant and blurry, I had to include because Marco is wearing more flared jeans, cuffed to reveal these shoes that I think are some kind of like, I want to say soccer shoes, but soccer shoes are cleats… I don’t know, these are on the tip of my tongue. Are they Pumas? Anyway he wears a beige graphic tee, a necklace, and earrings including his cartilage. Next he’s seen in a yellow windbreaker vest over a grey tee.
S2E9: Mirror in the Bathroom Aired: 2002
Oh yeah, Toby’s wrestling opponent. I don’t know if we ever caught his first name, but his last name is Andrews. He wears colorful tees, a nice break from Toby’s drabness. I also threw in this shot of this pro wrestler, the man who Toby aspires to be, in his leather vest and badly-wigged babes. And finally, just a shot of the front, showing these dudes in their cool baggy clothes.
Attila is Ellie’s cousin. I wish we got to see more of him but this is it. He wears a goatee, a long braided ponytail, a septum piercing, and has a biker look in a black tee, leather vest, and lots of tattoos. Surprisingly, though, he’s blaring opera music in the tattoo shop.
S2E3: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Aired: 2002
LOL god. Snake is wearing a bland monochromatic outfit complete with Wallaby shoes. I can’t even say much more than that. It pains me. However, he finally is somewhat interestingly dressed for the daytime 80s dance. A styled wig, a multicolored shirt, two? vests, and some eye makeup. Again, idk who he’s dressed as, sorry. He even plays “Everybody Wants Something”. Okay, so when I was first watching this show, I think I understood by now that there was an 80s Degrassi and that’s where a lot of the grown ups came from. They’ve mentioned their band before and I was assuming it was gonna be a really cool 80s rock band, right? Like, the 80s were heavy and awesome (this is my teenage thought here okay?). And then, when Snake plays “Everybody Wants Something” over the speakers, I was like. Seriously? THIS is the band they talk so much about? This is the dorkiest thing ever. Anyway, the last picture is him making out with Spike in a normal grown up Snake shirt.
