Here’s our super-not-fun-time-with-JT again. He wears baggy cargo pants as he meets with his client. At school he wears more of the usual preppy stuff – layers, collars, etc. His hair looks a little better… not great, but better. And then of course we see him in a hospital gown. Oof. Just… a bummer of a storyline.

Jay time! He’s being a terrible influence on JT right now but he does have style. His growing-out hair is kinda in the awkward stage as they call it, but he pulls it off. He wears this tiny-rimmed sunglasses and baggy monochromatic clothes. Interesting filters they’ve got on these scenes, like the color is all drained from life.

Peter is definitely giving CREEPER here, it’s hilarious. Lurking HARD. But he does have his mysterious, rich-boy-with-dark-secrets allure. Don’t worry, that allure completely disintegrates by Season 6. Enjoy this spiky hair and overly preppy attire while it lasts.

I don’t freaking care what ANY of you say, I ADORE this hair on Manny. It’s got so much texture, movement, and bounce. I’m obsessed. I wish my hair could do this for real. She’s wearing bright summery tanks this episode while she plots an evil scheme to pair Emma up with a booger-eater. Terrible friend move.

Jay has started lurking around JT at the pharmacy, because he sees a golden opportunity. He’s growing his hair out – aw I wish he’d followed through with that – and wears baggy jeans and inconspicuous tees and colors.

Emma time! She first appears in classic Earthy Emma tones, sporting some athleisure and her classic trusty bag. Ew, and this is where Craig and Manny randomly decide to hook her up with Derek. My soul shrivels like a raisin at the thought. How do these two jokers even KNOW Derek? They say through Jimmy. But come on. It doesn’t work. Next we see her at school wearing a 2000s skin-tight-t-shirt that says Free Spirit, as well as some cropped jeans and flats. Next up is a tie-dye tee an some jeans with patches on them. She’s resisting the temptation of Peter. Look, Peter could be seen as somewhat enticing and mysterious here in Season 5. But BRO does he take a nosedive in Season 6. More on that later.
And finally, the date. One of the most PAINFUL moments of Degrassi. I am filled with cringe. And I am also filled with rage that this was written into the show at all. It’s insulting. Manny was supposed to have recommended this? Does Manny not know Emma at all? The more I think about this the less it makes sense. I mean, look at the two of them? Emma looks like her mom made her take her little brother to the mall. Anyway, Emma looks hot but didn’t try too hard, thank goodness, because it’s not worth her effort. She wears layered camis with a jean skirt and sandals. And thankfully she is very honest with Derek and aborts the mission. IMAGINE. IMAAAAAGINE if they continued to date. I might have had to quit watching this show.

S5E6: I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For

Jimmy is just going through an identity crisis I guess. What should his hobby be? Who should his girlfriend be? etc. Kinda sucks, ya know… when you think about this. He dumped Hazel for Ellie and Ellie rejected him. Oof. Anyway, fashion-wise, Jimmy is still dressed really athletic, in sweatsuits and all that, mostly sporting that Triple 5 Soul.

S5E6: I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For

This little storyline of like, Jimmy being into drawing and Ellie being into horror comics and stuff.. it seems like it’s coming out of left field. It seems forced almost. And it reminds me of how little we’re shown what these kids are actually “into”. Ellie just always seems like a sudden expert at any given thing, it’s kind of annoying.
Anyway, so her hair loves the curling wand now. And her clothes are still pretty cool but she’s definitely devolving. lol. First she wears her Emily the Strange bag with a long sleeve shirt under a short sleeve shirt and her go-to o-ring necklace. She takes Jimmy to the museum in a leather jacket, studded belt, and these flare jeans that are freaking cuffed like 6 inches. She and Paige both. How short ARE these people?! I had to buy long length jeans back then. She’s seen briefly looking cute in maroon, and finally in some graphic tee, giving Jimmy a LEADING smile.

The way I groaned when Jiberty walked on screen. They are SUCH a buzzkill right now. Uggghhh, most unenjoyable pregnancy storyline ever. Anyway, JT is just doing his preppy boy thing, with that hat hair and layered shirts. And he’s dying inside as Liberty creates life inside.
