Marco’s style is definitely developing even further now! First he’s wearing a navy track jacket with futuristic shades. Then he wears a ringer tee with a necklace and a bandanna. He’s also got those cuffed flared jeans. Next, he experiments with some yellow, wearing a plaid shirt and bandanna, as well as his sunglasses in that dark ass basement.

I CANNOT believe we’re actually here. Manny’s transformation. Manny’s thong. And here we are, a fashion, blog, journeying since 1987, to get here. And here we are. Manny has always been so sweet, innocent, childlike, with pigtails, as long as we’ve known her. But now, following in the footsteps of Stephanie Kaye, she has decided to change her style. She wants to be hot. So first we see her in her spirit squad outfit, being totally overlooked by the man of her dreams, Sketchy Sully.
So the next day, she’s wearing a huge hoodie walking to school, only to reveal a sexy velour tracksuit underneath. Not just any track suit – it’s a tube top complete with low-rise bottoms, in a fresh baby blue. She lets her hair down and immediately everyone is gawking. Later at the mall, we see the full fit which includes a matching jacket and bucket hat and white shoes. I love the look of “excessive color” as my high school called it. My high school banned “excessive color” because it was a “gang symbol”. Oh yeah, and her chain necklace says “VEGAS”. But anyway, now Manny decides she needs a thong, by holding it up to her face.
AND HERE WE ARE! Manny’s bright blue, bedazzled thong, busting out of super-low rise jeans, completely exposed under her blue bell-sleeve cropped shirt. In order to show off even more skin, she lets the top droop off her shoulders, and her bra straps follow suit. Her eyeshadow is frosty, her hoops are huge, and her hat is suede. Also, that criss-cross tie up the front of the shirt was definitely a trend back then (it’s also made a minor comeback recently). Long story short, the whole school is suddenly in love with her, and she gets apprehended due to her “visible underwear”.
Cue next day. Manny is hiding under a huge jacket again to reveal, NO MORE VISIBLE UNDERWEAR. Because she’s not wearing underwear with those super-low-rise jeans today. She also wears an extremely cropped shirt that says “the most beautiful girl in the world” and a floral, cropped, zip-up short sleeve hoodie. It’s truly a look. She’s last seen at the Dot, and she’s added this pink hat which really completes the ‘fit.
Wow, we did it – we reviewed Manny’s style shift! Honestly I love it. Plus, think about this. This really shows a person’s power of transformation. it’s all about context. you never know what’s hiding under their overalls and pigtails. I mean, just think about Tessa Campanelli! I say all this not to sound creepy, but to say that people can go from 0 to 10, depending on what kind of clothes they have, how they carry themselves, how they position themselves, how they’re feeling that day. We are fluid and flexible creatures, we are masters of illusion and manipulation of appearances. We are an art!

Is nobody gonna talk about how COINCIDENTAL it is that JT has an “honest-to-goodness sweet-hearted crush on Manny uwu” as SOON as she starts wearing a public thong? Bitch please. He likes her the same damn reason Sully and everyone else likes her. Sheesh. So why we all pro-JT when he’s just a perv like everyone else? Sure, maybe he’d be nicer than Sully, but what’s the REAL reason for the interest? Horniness. Excuse all the language in this post, I really couldn’t hold back.
Horny JT is seen here in multiple shots, gawking at Manny, with his shaggy haircut, open button down, tee, shorts, and chunky shoes. Oh and can’t forget the puka shell necklace. And gotta love the black socks. And I miss when shorts were this long. Don’t miss that hairstyle.

Continuing with this bland af color scheme, Joey wears more button up shirts and ties. That picture of him driving away in his car though – talk about pictures you can hear. “Rock on dudes!” Oh right, slapped there in the middle he does dress casually, in some weird polo and a waist apron. Tell me, why would you wear an apron from the waist down? What does that protect you from? Anyway, this is the episode where Joey thinks that Craig and Craig’s band actually care that Joey was in a pretend band once. And he’s super embarrassing, and then the camera accidentally films Craig talking smack, and then Joey watches it. It’s painful. God. I almost feel sorry for Joey. He’s very sad about being an adult. But Joey, just because you’re an adult doesn’t mean you have to look and be so boring.

Emma, oh Emma. This is the part where Emma is no longer the main character. It’s interesting, you know. At first she’s like, trying to be supportive of Manny’s rebranding campaign. Like, oh cool, you look great. But eventually she’s like “I’M CONCERNED”. What do you think? Do you think Emma was really concerned about “how Manny was acting”, or do you think Emma was jealous?
First she’s wearing a tight, green tank – with a scarf, cuz, you know, when it’s cold, you go sleeveless and just wear a scarf. She’s also got her low-hanging purse, and khaki flares. At the mall, she’s got a jean jacket over top. Also, she says she doesn’t think they should sell thongs at the mall. I never really understood what she meant by that. All these years, never understood. Like, why not? Where should they be sold instead? The grocery store? Do you find them dangerous, Emma?
Next she’s in a pinkish mandala 3/4 sleeve boat neck top with some drawstring cargo pants, slowly becoming more salty. And finally, for the day of the big blowout, she wears flare jeans, and some greenish/blueish layered tops.

I know, right? Where’s the thong already? Sheesh. However, it is worth examining the fact that Craig is FINALLY dressing a bit more interestingly. Kinda like, a low-effort rocker guy. First he wears a floppy jean jacket over a sleeveless tee. Note the baggy(ish) jeans and Chuck Taylor Converse. Then we wears an “I Mother Earth” band tee. Which apparently is a Canadian rock band. And finally he’s in a green tee and just, more saggy baggy pants. But be glad there’s no more brown shirts and that yellow camera strap. Unfortunately we don’t get rid of the confused look in his eyes. No, it only gets worse. (See: Season 3. Hang on tight.)
