The beginning of the second end, of Sean and Emma. Weird relationship, don’t really approve of it myself. But in terms of style, you reeeeeaaally are starting to see the separation between the two, as their styles completely clash, reflecting their completely different interests and lifestyles. Look, I’m not trying to say people of different subcultures can’t have a healthy relationship, but you gotta admit that a hippie dating a gangster is a stretch. First Emma wears a burgundy blouse, khaki capris, and cream colored sneakers. Next she cleans the ravine in a blue tie-dye tank and more khakis. I was just mentioning to one of my zoomer coworkers that we all used to wear khakis casually, and she was like, whaaaa? Next is her school picture, which is kinda sad, because it’s like a kind gesture that’s about to get crumpled up. Anyway she’s wearing a pinkish tee with a mandala on it. And finally, Emma is signing the picture and trying to give it to Sean, wearing her floor-length purse, a jean skirt, and a white peasant top.

Is this really our first time featuring MY QUEEN ALEX NUNEZ? I could have sworn she’s been in the background a time or two before now, but I guess not. Anyway, no matter. Alex is a goddess, I adore her – her attitude, her attire, everything. So she’s first seen as Jay’s gum-chewing appendage. She kinda has intimidating bad-girl vibes similar to Tabi. She literally gives no effs, as is apparent by her baggy pants, constant nail-filing, gum-chewing, and bra straps falling down. Alex has a certain uniform, the same way Sean or Jay usually do. A stacked haircut, tank top, sunglasses, hoops, and headphones, and low-rise, baggy pants. Her style is so effortlessly cool, despite its simplicity. She’s such a badass, I can’t wait to share more of her.

Jay is washing his hands like a good boy in the bathroom, wearing a backwards hat, a black cutoff tee, and a cross body bag.

I was never a fan of crocheted tops, but somehow, everything Paige wears increases in legitimacy. To the beach she wears this pink crocheted top and an updo. Then she’s seen at school in a Canadian tuxedo – flared jeans and a jean jacket which has a strange yarn fringe. And at the dot, you can’t really see what she’s wearing, but it’s some kinda light-colored tank.

The first appearance of JAY FREAKING HOGART! He’s one of my most favorite characters. I know a lot of you would say the same. And I hope that we all realize there’s no good reason why. Haha! Well, I can praise his fashion choices all day long, and thankfully that’s why we’re here. I swear, this actor is styled SO well, that I was stunned and disappointed that Mike is nothing like Jay in any way. lol. He wears a lot of this athletic-turned gangster style. Baggy pants, large shoes, windbreakers, sideways caps. He’s just all around perfection.

Ellie Nash Fashion 3.4

When I think of Ellie, my first thought is usually referencing her in this episode. For two reasons: 1, her style is iconic here on this day. And 2, I completely relate to the way she feels here in this episode. It’s almost, potentially, social anxiety. I mean, I know the script probably intends for us to think she’s just all bent out of shape over Marco. But I see more than just that. I see a girl who blatantly doesn’t fit in. A girl who questions her outfit as soon as she steps outside and sees the people she’s with. A girl who wants to have fun but doesn’t know how, like she can’t find that lightswitch inside of her to switch “fun” to “on”. A girl who’s there, physically, but not contributing to the socialization, and not necessarily wanted. I relate to that feeling all too well, of wanting to have fun, to be fun, but not knowing how. What can she possibly say to this group of friends chatting? Nothing. You know?

I wish it was social anxiety in the script. Instead it’s just “I’m mad at Marco so this isn’t fun”. lol. Whatever. Anyway, so let’s talk about the clothes. First of all who tf goes to the beach in this? I gotta admire her commitment to the aesthetic though. El wears pigtail braids, a sleeveless collared shirt with crisscross tie down the front, mesh sleeves and arm warmers, a choker, a plaid skirt, leggings or pants underneath, and black wedge boots. And a big FROWN y’all! “I couldn’t let my HONEY come here by himself.” Girl, yes you could omg.

Marco’s style is definitely developing even further now! First he’s wearing a navy track jacket with futuristic shades. Then he wears a ringer tee with a necklace and a bandanna. He’s also got those cuffed flared jeans. Next, he experiments with some yellow, wearing a plaid shirt and bandanna, as well as his sunglasses in that dark ass basement.

Is nobody gonna talk about how COINCIDENTAL it is that JT has an “honest-to-goodness sweet-hearted crush on Manny uwu” as SOON as she starts wearing a public thong? Bitch please. He likes her the same damn reason Sully and everyone else likes her. Sheesh. So why we all pro-JT when he’s just a perv like everyone else? Sure, maybe he’d be nicer than Sully, but what’s the REAL reason for the interest? Horniness. Excuse all the language in this post, I really couldn’t hold back.

Horny JT is seen here in multiple shots, gawking at Manny, with his shaggy haircut, open button down, tee, shorts, and chunky shoes. Oh and can’t forget the puka shell necklace. And gotta love the black socks. And I miss when shorts were this long. Don’t miss that hairstyle.

I know, right? Where’s the thong already? Sheesh. However, it is worth examining the fact that Craig is FINALLY dressing a bit more interestingly. Kinda like, a low-effort rocker guy. First he wears a floppy jean jacket over a sleeveless tee. Note the baggy(ish) jeans and Chuck Taylor Converse. Then we wears an “I Mother Earth” band tee. Which apparently is a Canadian rock band. And finally he’s in a green tee and just, more saggy baggy pants. But be glad there’s no more brown shirts and that yellow camera strap. Unfortunately we don’t get rid of the confused look in his eyes. No, it only gets worse. (See: Season 3. Hang on tight.)
